Will You Be Ready

This is a subject that many people don’t like to talk or hear about because frankly it makes them fearful and scared.  But born-again believers have nothing to fear.  I think it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that we are living in the last days especially if you know what the Bible says about the end times.  The Lord didn’t want us to be ignorant of these things so He had them written down for us to read.  What was written isn’t there to scare believers but to help them to prepare and be ready for the Lord’s return.

The end time events are written in various books in the Bible but I am going to focus on Matthew 24 and some of the events that it talks about there.  See if you recognize some of these things that Jesus spoke to His disciples about many years ago that are taking place today.

One of the first things he told His disciples was to be careful they would not be fooled or deceived because of the many false teachers and prophets claiming to be something they are not.  I talked about being deceived yesterday not knowing that I would be doing this ‘tidbit’ today.  There will be times ahead where deception will run rampant and many will be deceived, like I said yesterday stay close to the Lord and study His Word so that you will not be led astray and deceived.  Cling to the Lord and not man and keep your eyes and mind on Him and His truths.

Then Jesus went on to talk about hearing of wars and rumors of wars and how they must come to pass but the end will not be yet.  Does this sound familiar to you?  In Matthew 24:7-13 Jesus said this, “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”  We hear and see all of these things today that Jesus was talking about but I think it will get much worse as the day of the Lord’s return gets closer.

There were many false prophets in Jesus’ day telling people what they wanted to hear instead of what they needed to hear.  We have many teaching today from our pulpits false doctrine, telling people they should be rich and do whatever they desire or that there is no such thing as sin or Hell.  Just as Jesus warned His disciples about how false teachers would come, he is also warning us to be careful that we are not led astray because of false teachers and so called prophets today.

If you think hatred of Christians was bad in Jesus’ day and in our world today, I think we have seen nothing compared to what it will be like in the future.  When you see these signs they are just the beginning of sorrows Jesus said.  Remember don’t forget to pray for your brothers and sisters around the world that are suffering for their stand for the Lord then ask the Lord to tell you what you might do to ease their suffering.

My advice would be to pray that you will be able to love and forgive your brothers and sisters sincerely, even if you are betrayed by someone that you would least expect, because Jesus said in those days the love of many will wax cold.  And pray that you will not be deceived and that the Lord’s will, will be accomplished in your life and that you will be faithful until the end if you are still here.  I may talk a little bit more about this subject tomorrow, I am not sure.  Until then I wish you and yours a super day and may the good Lord bless you abundantly and don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord!!
