Confidence Is Important

When a man throws away his confidence in God he throws away his dependence on God.  Where does your loyalty rest, on the arm of God or the arm of man?  

In the past many have had to make that decision and many chose to lay down their lives for Christ, like He laid down His life for them.  We at this time, live in a day of freedom, but the noose is being tightened each day, plans are being prepared and have been in the works for many years for our government officials to be the law of the land and what they say will be law and God’s laws will be a thing of the past, like it is in some places of the world today.  When man becomes the law in himself at the exclusion of God’s laws, slavery will be the next step.

Think of Hitler, when the law was passed that Jews were less than animals and could be exterminated, it was legal to kill them by man’s law, and millions were exterminated under the law.  After Hitler was defeated, the ones that killed the Jews could argue that they were not breaking the law but were upholding the law so they were not guilty of murder.  

When a society eliminates God from the equation they can, and will, do anything to further their own agenda.  Think about abortion, God’s law calls it murder, man’s law calls it legal for crowd or population control or women’s rights.  Same goes for euthanasia, in some countries it can be done legally by man’s law but it is a sin by God’s law.  What about homosexuality and homosexual marriage it has been legalized by man’s law but not by God’s law. Think about the Health care law known as Obamacare, it was passed into law behind closed doors, in secret meetings; if this can be done what else do they have up their sleeves?  Man left to himself, and his own imaginations, is capable of anything. When God handed down the Ten Commandments to Moses it was the law of the land for the Jewish people and still is to this day for all people.  

Jesus said at a later time in Mathew 5:17-19, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.  I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.  Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”  

Believers aren’t justified by the law, they are justified through faith and grace, but they are still required to keep the law along with everyone else the best they can.  With the culture changing, the economy receding, jobs becoming scarce and government handouts on the rise through unemployment and welfare checks, people are becoming much more dependent on government resources.  This is what happened in Germany then most of the people became puppets, stripped of all rights except for what the government gave them.  They became so dependent on the government that many committed themselves, and their very existence, to it and many of the pastors did the same, forsaking Christ for the arm of man, the government.

Before you stand in judgment of them, put yourself in their shoes, the way things look you may be standing in the same situation someday, having to make the same choice, it was either go along with the government or starve, many choose to live.  The Bible says this in Matthew 16:25-27, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”

It is easy to type this up, but if, and when, the time comes we will have to be prepared to make a choice.  These can be some of the scariest times of our lives or the most exciting times depending on your outlook at the time.  If the Lord means more to you than anything else you will do the right thing, if not you may give up your confidence, I hope not.  I hope we will all make the right choice.  May God bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!
