I think if we are aware of what is going on around us there
is no doubt that we are living in the latter days of the end times. I know that there are many people that don’t
want to hear or read about these things but they are going to take place
regardless of how we feel about them. It
is inevitable no matter how we feel we cannot change the fact that the Lord proclaimed
it and it will happen, so the best thing that believers or non-believers can do
is accept it and prepare for it.
Nothing in the Word of God is there to scare the believer but
for the non-believer it should scare them half to death. Non-believers that turn up their noses at God in
scorn and rejection have something to be terrified about because if they leave
this earth without a personal relationship with the Lord (Being Born-again) they
will be tormented forever and ever, from my understanding, where there will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth. For the born-again
believers there will be joy unspeakable and everlasting contentment with no
more suffering and no more pain because God will wipe away every tear and the
former things will not come to mind. It
says this in Isaiah 65:17, “For behold, I
create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall
not be remembered or come to mind.”
This is a picture of what will take place in the future for
all true believers and how comforting we will feel as the God of all comforts, touches
us and we rest from our labors and dwell with God our Father and Jesus Christ
our Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord, which
is something we will have all eternity to do, and something we should be doing
right now.
Matthew 24 and other books of the Bible describe what it
will be like before the Lord’s return and, like I said, these things are
written for our good, not to scare the believer, but to warn us of the Lord’s
coming so it will not take us unaware or overwhelm us but that we should take
these words to heart and be prepared for what is coming. The Lord wants us to be watching and ready for
His return because when He comes back it will be quick and whoever is not ready
with their house in order and their feet grounded on the rock and the narrow
path that leads to God’s kingdom it will be too late.
It says this in Matthew 24:36-51, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,
but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of
the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the
ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will
the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be
taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be
taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your
Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what
hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to
be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an
hour you do not expect.
“Who then is a
faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to
give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he
comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler
over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is
delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and
drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he
is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him
in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.”
Someday the true believers will be snatched away to be with
the Lord while the pretenders and non-believers will be left to face a terrible,
terrible existence and, in the end, if they haven’t repented and had a rebirth experience,
will face a far worse eternity!! This is
a crucial time to examine yourself to see if you really are in the body of
Christ and, if not to, make steps towards that goal.
You may want to repeat this prayer: Heavenly Father I come to you on my behalf seeking
an audience with you. I humbly bow
before you in reverence, acknowledging the fact that I need you to be my Lord
and Savior and come into my live and make me a brand new creation. I know that I have sinned and transgressed
against you and I am sorry, please forgive me and may your peace, love and joy
fill my very soul and put a heart of rejoicing and praising within me as I give
my life fully to you.
If you choose to do this, don’t be in a hurry, take plenty
of time and let the Lord’s peace, love and joy flood your very soul. Then start rejoicing in the Lord and start growing
by reading and studying the Word of God and praying on a consistent basis. Attend a church where the truth is being
taught and fellowship with others of like-minded faith. Something to think about! May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you
have a super day!!
