I think what the Bible says about what will happen in the
end times, troubles many believers. Think
of this, what the Word says about what will take place in the end times isn’t supposed
to scare and trouble believers, but they were written so that we will be ready
when Jesus returns and also for the un-believers benefit, to prepare them for
how they will suffer if they are separated from the Lord at the time.
For the true born-again believer we should be preparing now
for the time of our departure, when these things come about. Many of us have struggled through trials and
tribulations and have trusted the Lord to get us through, and in many cases, He
has and He will continue, if we stay faithful. As time goes on things will eventually get worse,
as we have already been experiencing, and the love of many people will wax cold
and there will be a great falling away and the things that can be shaken, will
be. Now is the time believer’s need to
be pressing into the Lord, getting rid of all hypocrisy and pretense, striving
for perfection.
Jesus wanted us to know what the signs of the end times
would be so that when He returned we would be ready and not left behind. What are you doing to prepare yourself for His
coming? We are responsible for how we prepare
and whether we are ready or not. The
Lord’s coming will be quick; there will be no time for repentance and getting ourselves
right with the Lord at that time. Now is
the time, so when the Lord comes we are ready to go.
Some of the things that the Lord spoke of have happened already
but some are yet to come. Jesus warned
about false teachers that took place in Bible times and it is taking place
today, be careful who and what you listen to so you won’t be deceived. Examine the sermons and teachings you hear because
many nice sounding messages don’t line up with the Word of God.
I just was reminded of a song that I haven’t heard probably
for years, look it up on YouTube and watch the short video titled, “I Wish We'd All Been Ready (Christian Music Video)” I think it fits well
with this message. There can be no worse
feeling then to have the Lord come back and not be ready and be left behind. When
this happens, all the hypocrisy, acting and pretending will be over and you
will despise yourself, but it will be too late because you will be left behind.
Don’t be like the evil servant in the book of Matthew in 24:44-51,
“For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an
hour when you do not think He will. Who then is the faithful and sensible slave
whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the
proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he
comes. Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his
possessions. But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is not coming
for a long time,’ and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with
drunkards; the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect
him and at an hour which he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and
assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.”
This should be enough for anyone that is backslidden, or those
who may be conforming to the world, or just complacent to get things right with
the Lord. And to the non-believer who
reads this and feels convicted, stop everything and pray this prayer, “Lord I know
that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness, I am truly sorry for my sins,
please forgive me and be the Lord of my life.” If you really mean it, I don’t believe that
you will be left behind either. Then
thank and praise the Lord and find a good Bible believing church, get a good Bible
and start studying. Then seek to get involved
in your church or find something to do that will help to further God’s kingdom.
May the good Lord bless you and yours
and have a super day!!
