For Such A Time As This

Think with me for a while that the world is a big stage and all the people that ever existed are actors on the stage of life.  None of us are here by accident we all have a purpose and there is a plan for each of our lives. When we watch a play and the actors come out on stage they have a reason for being there, they all have a part to play to bring the production  to a conclusion, the way it was intended.  In order for that production to be a success every person has to perform well because any flaws or failures will be detected and will take away from the precision of the actors, and the production as well.

Now think about the designer, or creator, that made the world, or in this case, the stage.  He was very meticulous and created everything perfect, down to the finite details of His masterpiece with the help of His beloved Son who was with Him.  It took Him seven days to complete all of it and when He completed it, He rested on the seventh day and said, “it is good.”

Then He created two actors, or a man and woman, to tend His beautiful garden that He placed them in, and all was well for a while.  The creator lived in a beautiful place He had also created, called Heaven, where He lived with angels that He created and everything was great.  The place where He lived was gorgeous, beyond what I can explain with my finite mind, beyond all comprehension.

All was going well but then things started to unravel, because one of His angels became dissatisfied with his position and the role he was to play.  He wanted the Creator’s role; in fact, he wanted to run the whole show which I think made the Creator very sad.  This wasn’t a concern for the rebellious angel, he was determined to get his way, so he started a rebellion and ended up recruiting a third of all the angels that were in this beautiful place called heaven.  At some point, I’m not sure exactly when, the Creator made the decision to throw him and the other rebellious angels out of heaven, and in doing so, Lucifer, who was the angel that started all the chaos, and the angels that were on his side, after a fierce battle, were thrown down to the earth.

There were animals the man had named in the garden, that the Creator had created, and one of them was named a serpent, or snake.  Adam and Eve were the names of the man and woman that were tending the garden.  The Creator, known to us as God, put a tree in the middle of this beautiful garden and commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of its fruit; everything was provided for them and they could eat of every other tree that bore fruit, but not that one.  Then one day here comes Lucifer, disguised as a serpent, to tempt them and Eve is deceived and takes of the fruit and Adam choses to also take of the fruit.

All of a sudden the Creator’s plan has been distorted, and He finds them hiding in the garden defeated, ashamed and humiliated.  Because of their sin, the play has become marred and ruined and the actors have been thrown out of that beautiful garden, just like Lucifer and the angels that followed him were thrown out of heaven because of his rebelliousness.  The stage is still there, but the actors have been marred by sin and the stage has lost its splendor.

As time goes on there are many more actors that come on the scene, all of them marred by sin, but the play must go on.  The Creator’s plan is still in motion even though the actors are marred by sin and are separated from the Creator.  His plan is to redeem them because of His great love, compassion and mercy.  Many years have passed and His plan has been devastated many times, but He is determined to bring good out of evil.

Knowing that His creation would never be able to redeem themselves He does the unthinkable; He came down from heaven and came to earth in the form of His son, Jesus.  Knowing that he was the only one that could restore His creation to Himself, that is what He did, allowing Himself to be crucified, die and be buried for our sins.  But that isn’t the end of the story because the grave could not hold Him; up from the grave He arose and through His shed blood, all who have put their trust in Him have been redeemed, forgiven and, although their sins were as the Bible says like scarlet, they have been made white as snow, praise the Lord!

And even though the stage will never be the same until the world is purged by fire at the end of days as we know it, the actors will always be marred with a sin nature; someday He will be coming back for His bride and we, who are His children by re-birth, will be with Him forever and we will never be marred by sin again.  We will be changed into the likeness of Christ and we will reign with our Lord and Savior in a beautiful place that will never be tainted by sin, because nothing sinful will ever be able to enter there.

If you are reading this and you are not a believer but you would like to be, pray telling the Lord this, I am a sinner in need of your saving grace and mercy, please forgive me of my sin and be my Savior, for I am sorry for my sins, thank you for your love and forgiveness in Jesus’ name, amen.  If you have prayed this prayer, meaning every word, I believe that you will become a child of God.  Then find a Bible believing church and a good Bible and start growing.  May the good Lord bless you and yours, have a great day and don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord!!
