Verses To Memorize

I thought I would do something a little different today.  Sometimes we need to be reminded of who we are in Christ Jesus.  I see our country and the world going in a different direction than we are used to.  I really see what is happening as a wakeup call.

I think the events we are seeing should remind us of the days of Noah. Think about Noah and how he was told by God to build an ark because God was going to destroy the earth because of the wickedness that was going on at the time.  Noah and his family were the only ones spared because Noah found favor with the Lord because he lived a godly life!  But think about the way the people must have ridiculed him while he was building this huge ark.  It took him 120 years to build it and while he was doing it think of how many people he had warned about the upcoming flood and no one believed him.  In those days people had never seen rain so this would have been foolishness to them.  What a horrible sight it must have been seeing the people trying to get into the ark when the waters started rising.  They weren’t laughing then, they would have been screaming for Noah to let them in the boat.

What about us, the Bible has been around for many years, are we heeding the warning signs or are we just going about pretending everything is going to be alright?  I see things getting worse and worse as time goes on, in fact, I think the way the world is so out of control with nobody seemingly knowing what to do to get us out of the mess we are in, we are being set up for the appearance of the antichrist.

This message is not to scare you, and it is not a message of gloom and doom, it is to prepare you and to encourage you.  This means that our Lord will be coming on the scene also to take us to be with Him, praise the Lord.  I have written this before but I will say it again, we need to be getting our house in order while we wait for the Lord’s appearance.  We need to be ready and anticipating the Lord’s appearance.

And no matter what we experience before his return we need to have a heart of praise and thanksgiving for who He is and what He is.  It is easy do these things when we are receiving things from His hands but we need to be seeking His heart.  And we also need to know who we are in Christ and His provision for us.  I have some verses I want to share with you today.

Luke 12:34 -- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  (NKJV)

Romans 8:37 -- Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  (NKJV)

Jeremiah 29:11 --  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  (NIV 1984)

1 John 4:4 -- You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (NKJV)

Philippians 4:13 -- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  (NKJV)

Isaiah 54:17 --  No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD.  (NKJV)

Isaiah 59:19 -- So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.  (NKJV)

1 Corinthians -- 2:16  For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?”  But we have the mind of Christ.  (NKJV)

John 1:12 -- But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (NKJV)

2 Corinthians 5:17 -- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

Psalm 103:12 -- As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us   (NKJV)

Ephesians 2:10 -- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
(NKJV)

If you don’t know these verses try to memorize them and think about them often.  I think they will be an encouragement to you in times of need and other times as well.  Have a great day and God bless you and yours.
