Time For a Cleansing

I believe the time is upon us when we need to stop playing games with the Lord and get serious and cleanse our minds and hearts of sin and our homes of whatever hinders us from having a closer relationship with the Lord.  Many of us have skeletons in our closets, so to speak, that we don’t want the Lord or anyone else to know about.

How long will you be controlled by the flesh and allow the sin nature to control your life and your way of thinking?  It is time to take control and rid yourself of the things that are weighing you down, causing you sleepless nights, stress and fear.  It is time you stop blaming your situations and circumstances on everyone and everything else.  It is time for you to take the responsibility and accept the consequences and cleanse your temple (your body) and your home.  If all we do is pass the buck, so to speak, we will never take action or responsibility for our own actions.  Remember you are responsible for your own actions, not for someone else's actions.  All down through human history people have been blaming someone else for their actions and we just keep repeating the same things over and over again.

Here is a list of some of the things you may be hiding behind, because you don’t want to reveal them and get them out in the open and repent and turn away from them;  slander, gossip, un-forgiveness and bitterness, anger, hatred, backbiting, conniving, adultery, being mean spirited, lying, stealing, porn or homosexuality.  It may be pride or arrogance, drugs or alcohol.  Maybe it is fear, worry and stress or maybe it is idols in your life. You may have just grown cold about the things of God so that you are just lukewarm.  There are so many things that can be separating you from your relationship with God, maybe you are in a backslidden state, falling in love with the things of this world.

Only you know what is hindering the closeness you once had, or could have, with the Lord and only you can cleanse your temple, which is your body, and also your home by making a choice to stop passing the buck and blaming someone else.  Make up your mind today that you will shoulder the responsibility and repent and confess your sin and receive forgiveness and get your relationship back with the Lord.  It is not too late as long as you are breathing, to make things right with the Lord.  The Lord loves you and the last thing He wants to do is to be separated from you, and have to correct you.  There is always a correction for sin and sometimes it can be very severe.  Is the Lord happy causing us pain?  No, and He always does it out of love.

If you know anything about the Israelites, you know they were God's chosen people.  He chose them from all the other nations of the world to be His people.  He loved them and protected them and went before them to conquer their enemies.  He provided for them in every way, He loved them with a jealous love.  I want to tell you about a king in the Old Testament whose name was Manasseh, he did evil in the eyes of the Lord and so did the people.  Because of their rebellion and the sins they committed God punished them by sending the Assyrian army against them, capturing King Manasseh, and taking him to Babylon.  In his distress he sought the Lord’s favor and repented and was restored back to his kingdom.  In 2 Chronicles 33:13 it says, “And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom.  Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.”

After repenting he started cleansing the city of David which was Jerusalem. In 2 Chronicles 33:15–16 it says, “He got rid of the foreign gods and removed the image from the temple of the LORD, as well as all the altars he had built on the temple hill and in Jerusalem; and he threw them out of the city.  Then he restored the altar of the LORD and sacrificed fellowship offerings and thank offerings on it, and told Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.”  Just as Manasseh repented and found the Lord’s favor and started cleansing the city and the temple so that he would please the Lord, we have to make that same choice today.  When he repented he was restored and the same thing will happen to you, or I, if we repent, praise the Lord.

So what are you waiting for, there is freedom with the Lord, receive yours today and go forth rejoicing and thanking and praising the Lord.

God bless you and have a great day. P. S. if these tidbits are a blessing, please let me know so we can rejoice together, praise God and thanks.
