The Savior of Israel

The Savior that chose the Israelites is the same God who chose to call the Gentile’s!  If you are a Jewish Christian the Lord has many promises for you and also for the Gentile Christian believers.

But how many of us Gentile Christians have a good feeling about the Jews? Our relationship with the Jews is very important.  This is what the Lord said about them, “I will bless those who bless Jerusalem and I will curse those that curse Jerusalem.”  It seems like some Gentile Christians, along with many in our government, have a problem with this.  It sounds like our President doesn’t realize this or he wouldn’t be trying to take some of their land and make a Palestinian state. The Israelite’s land was given to their forefathers as their inheritance and it will not be taken from them at any price.

The Israelites are very special to God and He calls them the ‘apple of His eye.’  The Lord had numerous reasons to destroy them over the years for the many times they sinned by rebelling against Him.  There were times that they had to be corrected and He did correct them, sometimes very harshly, but He never destroyed them because of His mercy, grace and love and also His promise to their forefathers.  He has committed Himself to the welfare of Israel.

All the nations that rise up against Israel will be utterly destroyed, including the United States.  So it is very important that we Gentile believers pray for Jerusalem, for its welfare and safety, for all the non-believers that are there and for their government.  Also pray for our President and all those who are in our government that they will stand with Israel against any enemy that will rise up against them.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the Lord’s blessings on it.

We as Gentile Christians owe a great debt to the Lord and to the Jews for their willingness to bring the gospel to us Gentiles.  Because of their willingness, our country was founded on freedom of religion, the Constitution and Christian principles and values.  Most of our founding fathers were believers and would be appalled at what we see today in our country.  Our country is sliding into anarchy because many have forsaken God and that is why we are in the mess we are in.  You can blame it on so many other things but in all reality we have, for the most part, forsaken the Creator that created us.  When many in our nation, our government and also our judicial system decided to take prayer out of school and started legislating from the bench and not the Constitution, calling wickedness good and good wicked, passing laws that would destroy the biblical mandate of a man and woman being a married couple, along with so many other wicked laws such as abortion and so on we are in a very sad situation.

And where was the church?  They were shaking in their shoes, in their pews afraid to stand against the horrible atrocities that have taken place and the horrid laws that have been passed.  We have hidden in the closet long enough, it is time to start looking like the army of God and take back what we have allowed the enemy to take from us.  It is time for the church to rise up and make its voice heard because, if not, we will be in a country that will be fighting against Israel, and also against God.

There was a King in the Old Testament that thought he could mock and blaspheme the God of the Israelites and defeat them and take their land like he had done to so many other Kings and their land.  He made a big mistake.

This is what the Lord said through Isaiah the Prophet in 2 Kings 19:5-7, “When King Hezekiah’s officials came to Isaiah, Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid of what you have heard—those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.  Listen! I am going to put such a spirit in him that when he hears a certain report, he will return to his own country, and there I will have him cut down with the sword.’”

Then a while later the King sent another message to King Hezekiah and said this in verses 10 – 13, “Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend on deceive you when he says, ‘Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’  Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries, destroying them completely. And will you be delivered?  Did the gods of the nations that were destroyed by my forefathers deliver them: the gods of Gozan, Haran, Rezeph and the people of Eden who were in Tel Assar?  Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, or of Hena or Ivvah?”

The Bible says in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”  This is a perfect example of this verse.  After these events Hezekiah took the letter up to the temple and spread it out and prayed.  Then Isaiah sent a message to Hezekiah.  In the message he sent, it said that God had heard the King’s prayer.  If you want to read the whole message you can find it in 2 Kings 19:20-34, it is worth reading.

I am going to take it up in verses 35 through 37 this is what happened in these verses, “That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!  So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.  One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.

If one angel could kill that many, what could a thousand, or many more, do?  I will say it again, if you are a Christian, you need to be praying for Jerusalem’s safety and also for our President and all who are in our government, that they will repent and turn away from their wicked ways and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  If things don’t change, we will find our country fighting against God and you know what the outcome will be, total destruction!  Also when you are in prayer meetings pray for these needs, they are of the utmost importance.

God bless and have a great day!  And don’t forget to praise and thank the Lord.
