True Believers

This is written to the believers, those that have been set apart because of the work of Christ in their lives, and those that just think they are.  I am fully aware that not everyone that claims to be a believer is a true believer and many are in the church that are still searching or have been deceived into thinking that they are true believers.  Deception is a part of life and it is a tool that the evil one uses to keep people blinded to the truth.

It says this in 2 Corinthians 4:34, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

It also says this in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11, “Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

The evil one, our enemy, is in church also, trying to raise havoc among the believers and no one is exempt from his temptation.  There are those that fall into temptations, and without knowing it, help the evil one in his destructive work.  When anyone holds a grudge and refuses to forgive, they become pawns in the evil one’s hands, to help him achieve what he is trying to do, which can happen to a believer or a non-believer that has been deceived.

One of the reasons I know there are un-believers that believe they have been born again, is because Jesus said this in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

In light of this, are you sure that you are a believer?  If you were to die today, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?  If not, you need to do what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.”   If you find on examination you can’t say yes to the two questions above, then you need to make sure today.

Most people get physical checkups to see how they are doing.  Paul encouraged the Corinthians to examine themselves to see if they were really believers.  Are you experiencing the Lord’s power and presence in your lives?  Are you striving to get closer to the Lord or do you seem to be withdrawing, going in the other direction?  Are you striving for perfection and is your desire to do the will of God?  Only you can answer these questions truthfully.  Are you a true believer or are you an imposter?

I pray that you are a true believer, but if not, please take these words very seriously and do something about your condition today and get yourself right with the Lord.  I hope you will go to a quiet place and bow yourself before the Lord and spend as much time as it takes: pray and ask the Lord to come into your life, to be your Lord and Savior and to forgive you of your many sins and don’t quit until you know for sure that it has happened.   That is what was called ‘praying through,’ then share what you did and rejoice in what the Lord has done in your life.  Get a copy of the Word of God and join a body of believers that live by it and start growing.

May the Lord bless you and may you experience daily His presence in a mighty way.  Have a super day and please don’t walk away without giving this some serious thought!!
