Changing Situations

We live in changing times where things, as a whole, seem to change daily or sometimes hourly.  The government seems to make decisions at will and it is getting very hard to know who you can trust.  It seems like some of the people you thought you could trust cannot be trusted and it is getting hard to know who you can turn to for help.  It is very hard to know who has your best interest in mind.

I think many people have traded the truth for a lie, as it says in the book of Romans 1:25, “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”  Trading the truth of God for a lie has caused many a consequence and destroyed many lives.  God has given man a free will so that he can choose for himself.

God’s Word is something we can trust and if we truly get it into our hearts it literally can set us free.  The Word says this in John 8:31-32, “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’”   Jesus is the truth and He can set you free, and His word is also truth and if you continue in it, it will also set you free.

In a world that is always changing, and with so many leaders that are so inconsistent, people need real consistency in their lives along with someone they can always believe in, someone they can always count on, one that will always keep His word and never tell a lie.  I am here to tell you that person is the Lord, because He has no hidden agendas and He has your best interest in mind.

God said this to the Israelites after their 70 years were completed in Babylon because of their rebellion and sinful behavior, in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”   I believe the Lord has these same plans for all his people, praise His name.  We can be sure that God’s promises can be trusted and in Him we can find security.

It is important to stay true to God’s Word no matter how bad the world becomes.  God’s Word says this in Proverbs 3:1-7:

“My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.”

Many times seeking and relying on our own understanding is not enough, we need to seek God and ask Him to guide and lead us.  He may also use other people to help us, if we are willing to listen.

Jesus said this in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  This means to turn to God for His help first and always put Him first in your life.

In these changing times that we live in, we can be sure that God doesn’t change.  The Word of God says this in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  It also says this in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

Enough said, God can be trusted even if everyone else fails you, He never will because He loves you, that you can be sure of!  Something to think about!  I hope this has encouraged you.  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!  Take some time today, and every day, to thank and praise the Lord, it will be good medicine for you, try it!!
