Seeing and Truth

If you see something can you always believe it as truth?  Sometimes it is, and other times it is not true.  When an illusionist makes something disappear, is it a fact or just a trick?  It is a trick.  The same thing happens with a magician, sometimes it seems like the hand is quicker than the eye.  Think about this, those that are in cults have different books that they read and believe, and many will give their lives for a lie, thinking so strongly that it is the truth.  How many people have read parts of the Bible but don’t believe it to be true?  So, seeing doesn’t always result in truth!

It is a strange, and somewhat scary thing, that people can read and what they see in the pages so strongly influences their lives that they will maim, destroy and kill because they believe so strongly in what they have seen and read to be the truth.  That is why people use and spend so much money on advertisements on TV and in magazines, if they can get people to see it, many will believe whatever is being said, whether it is true or not.

Think about the election process, there is so much money spent on commercials and ads, I am talking about millions, and a good majority of what you read and hear is outright lies and deception.  It seems like our government is so corrupt that no one can get into office by their own integrity, they have to buy their way in.  What a shame that is, the money they spend could be used to help people in so many ways, but it is just wasted, and basically thrown away, which shows how far we have fallen into sin and corruption in our nation and we are not alone.  Recently we have heard that many of the Dems want to take the word God out of their platform and they say that Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel, which is a lie.  What is this country coming to?  

I guess people figure if you see and hear a lie long enough you will get desensitized to it and start to believe it as the truth.  This is why the Bible and Christianity are so unpopular with so many people.  So many people have been deceived by lies about them. There are many books on evolution and there are TV programs pushing the evolution lie.  There are books like the “Da Vinci Code,” and many other books that slander the Bible and the truths that are in it.  I have already mentioned cults that believe a lie for their truth.  

God explained long ago in His Word why these things take place and the condition of man.  It wasn’t that man didn’t see and hear about God, and that they didn’t know the truth, they did.  The following verses relate to God’s anger towards sin.  It says this in Romans 1:18-25, Paul speaking, “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.”

God was angry at sinful people because they had substituted the truth about God for their own fantasy, and it is still going on today.  God is so righteous that He cannot tolerate sin in any form.  If anyone is a non-believer your basic problem is sin.  The reason why many people reject God, and the things of God, is because satan has blinded their eyes so even if they see or hear the truth they won’t believe. We need to pray that God will open their eyes to the truth of His Word. Remember what the Bible says about who we are wrestling with.  It is found in Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

We are fighting against satan and his demon helpers, not people, we always need to keep that in mind, then we will understand why people are the way they are and why they act the way they do.  God bless and have a great day!!
