Will You Be Ready

I wrote a song called, "Will You Be Ready On Judgement Day." This is a subject that many Christians don’t seem to want to talk about or hear about. I guess there are many reasons for this way of thinking. The truth is some day we will all stand before the Lord and face the judgment, and we all need to be preparing for it now!

The Bible says, "judgement starts at the household of God." There is no doubt in my mind that we are in the final days and the Lord’s imminent return. Regardless of why you don’t want to hear about it, it is going to happen.

Jesus said, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree! When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves ye know that summer is nigh. So likewise ye when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:32–35
K. J. V. Bible.

What was Jesus talking about?

Matthew chapter 24:4–14 Jesus speaking says this, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye not be troubled for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse (various) places. All these things are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliever you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall arise and deceive many. And because iniquity (sin) shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come."

These are the things that Jesus was talking about, the things He said had to take place before the end comes. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that most, if not all, of these things are taking place now in this generation. This is why it is so important to be ready on judgement day.

This is not a time for Christians to be running and hiding but it is a time of rejoicing for our redemption draweth nigh. This is a time for the non Christian to fear and turn from their wicked ways, repent and confess their sins and receive Jesus into their heart and their lives.

God will take care of His people when the time comes. We shouldn’t fear. The Bible says, "perfect love cast out all fear."

Let me end this lesson with a few more verses. Jesus said this in the same chapter in verses 29-31, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the Heavens and the powers of the Heavens shall be shaken! And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in Heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet. And they shall gather together, His elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other."

Now I have done your homework for you, there is much more I could say but I think I said enough for now, so be of good cheer and keep looking up. Don’t let the evil one, or anyone else, knock you out of the race. Run with your eyes on the prize and be an overcomer, then you will be ready on judgment day. Praise God and have a great day!
