God Takes Sin Seriously

God never overlooks sin or sweeps it under the rug, so to speak.  God took it very seriously when Adam and Eve sinned, and their sin affected the whole human race and many other things, and it has taken its toll all the way from the creation of man to our modern day.  To God sin is an abomination and He never tolerates it and it is the reason that we are separated from God from birth.  We are all born with a sin nature which makes us God’s enemies.

I keep returning to this subject because we don’t hear about these things very often in many of the churches today and this subject is far too important to eliminate or water down.  Sin is in violation of God’s laws and God knows the devastation it has caused and is still causing in our day!!  Sin is so grievous to God it is a stench to Him and I believe that God hates it.  All one must do is pick up God’s Word and start reading and you will find out how devastating sin is and how rampant it is and the destruction it has caused and continues to cause.  We are all born in sin and have a sin nature and because of that we all deserve God’s wrath and judgment and hell, but because of God’s love and grace and mercy He isn’t willing that any be lost but that all come to repentance.  So, He put a plan in place that would bring pardon for all the offenders that would repent and turn from their wicked ways and make a conscious decision to forsake their sin and ask the Lord to be their Lord and Savior and to forgive them their sins and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness!!  God is looking for people with humble and contrite hearts, them He will not despise.

Read John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Now that is the good news.  It is hard to imagine that the God of the universe would sent His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, into the world for various reasons and one of them would be to lay down His life to be a ransom for the guilty; a man who had no sin became sin for us so that we could become the righteousness of Christ, praise the Lord!!  Jesus paid our penalty, learning obedience through suffering to take us from death to life through His shed blood so that although our sins be as scarlet they would be washed whiter than snow if we truly repented and ask Him to forgive us, praise the Lord!!  There is no remission, or forgiveness, of sin without the shedding of blood and Jesus willingly laid His life down being crucified died and was buried and rose again three days later because the grave couldn’t hold him down!!  Because of His sacrificial death we could be forgiven and made right with God.

There is no other religion that could make that claim.  All the other religions claim that the person needs do some kind of work to appease his or her god. Christianity is the only one that claims salvation apart from works, praise the Lord!!

Read Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Not one of us could do anything to deserve God’s forgiveness and love and mercy and grace so He did what we could never do.  All who are thirsty let them come to the living water and drink.

Read John 4:7-14, “A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, ‘Give Me a drink.’ For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, ‘How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?’ For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, ‘If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.’ The woman said to Him, ‘Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?’ Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.’”

Enough said, I think you got the message, praise the Lord.  May God bless you and yours and may all of you have a super day!!
