The Day of Salvation

If God is drawing you today don’t harden your heart to His calling.  Seek the Lord while He might be found.  Isaiah 55:1-6, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you the sure mercies of David.
Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, a leader and commander for the people. Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you. Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”

Bread is good for our physical needs but does nothing for our spiritual needs, we need the spiritual nourishment that feeds our souls that only the Lord can provide.  Isaiah encourages us to come to the Lord while He may be found and to call upon Him while He is near.  Isaiah 55 also says this in verses 7-9, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. ‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’”

Even though the Israelites forsook God and His covenant and worshiped idols, He was willing to forgive and renew His covenant again.  God does not plan to separate from us but many times we move far away from Him by doing our own thing and going our own way.  Sin always separates man from God.  Read what it says in Isaiah 1:16-19, “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow. ‘Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the Lord, ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”

This was part of the message to the rebellious people of Israel and Judah, if you want to read it all read a few chapters in Isaiah.  These people were sacrificing for their sins outwardly but from a corrupt heart.  God seeks the humble and contrite heart, which He will not despise.  God seeks repentance from us, then He will be pleased with our sacrifices of time, money and service. Sin lives a deep stain in our lives that can only be removed through the cleansing blood of Jesus.

If you feel that the Lord is calling you today to repent, don’t hesitate, ask the Lord to forgive you and come into your heart and to be Lord of your life.  Then start growing in your new found faith and thank and praise the Lord!!  Something to think about and may you have a super day and may God bless you and yours!!
