God has been inviting people to come unto Him for many, many
years. Since the days He walked with
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, His desire has been to fellowship with people,
His creation, those that were made in His image and likeness except for their
sin nature, which Adam and Eve didn’t have, but they chose to sin, infecting
all their offspring with a sin nature. God
never had a sin nature nor has He ever sinned.
God walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day because
He loved them and wanted a close relationship with them, a personal relationship. His plan all along has been to personally fellowship
with His creation. I know that it is
hard to imagine, the God that created the Universe even exists, let alone
thinking He would be so concerned with us that He would go through the extremes
He did to have a relationship with us. It
is hard to get our minds around such a powerful mystery. Even with all the atrocities that have been dealt
against Him, and still continue today, He never gave up on that desire.
Even after the Israelites sinned grievously and were banished
from Jerusalem to Babylon for a seventy year period, God had this plan for them
which is recorded in Jeremiah 29:10-14, “For
thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit
you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of
peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon
Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and
find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,
says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you
from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the
Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried
away captive.”
I believe this plan is for all of the people of God, praise
His name. Like I said earlier, God’s
plan from the beginning was to have a personal relationship with all of His
creation. The whole world is in turmoil
today and in some ways it always has been since the creation of time, so we all
need a glimmer of hope that we can cling to.
The Lord God is the only hope that is sure and trustworthy,
and praise God, He loves us even in our sin and shame, let me explain this to
you. The Word says this in Romans 5:1-11,
“Therefore, having been justified by
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also
we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope
of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing
that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and
character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been
poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For when we were still
without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a
righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare
to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by
His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were
enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more,
having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but
we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now
received the reconciliation.”
God loved His creation so much that He provided a way for
all of them to be saved and to live with hope, even when at one time they had
no hope being separated from Him because of their sin. That hope came through Jesus Christ, God’s
only begotten Son, who gave His life on a cross, cursed with the sin of the
world on His shoulders, a man who knew no sin became sin for us. What a Savior, and through Him all mankind can
be redeemed.
The Word says this in Galatians 3:13-14, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of
the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone
who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the
Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith.”
No one can truly imagine how Christ suffered for our redemption,
but even through all this men still chose to reject Him. If you are one of the ones that still reject
Him, my prayer for you is that today you will receive Him as your Lord and
Savior and if you have been backsliding, that you will return to Him today,
confessing your sins and rededicating your life to Him. The Word says that, “He is not willing that any be lost but that all will come to repentance,”
so what are you waiting for?
It also says this in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God
did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world
through Him might be saved.”
The ‘whoever’ in this verse means everyone and anyone that
believes in Him through faith, can have a personal relationship with Him. This is good news, the best news you will ever
hear. If you feel the pull of the Holy
Spirit through the conviction of your sin, repent and ask the Lord to forgive
you and to cover you with the precious blood of Jesus and to come into your heart
and life and to be your Lord and Savior. While you are praying, take some time to
fellowship with Him and let His peace, love and joy fill your life, then you
can walk away rejoicing and praising and thanking Him for what He has brought about
in your life. Then share what the Lord
has done for you with others. Pray about
the church God would want you to be a part of and get a Bible and start studying
and putting the Word into practice and start growing in your new found faith. Something to think about! May the good Lord bless you and yours and may
you have a super day!!
