Carrying Burdens

Question: what kind of burdens are you weighted down with today?  Maybe you are weighted down with many burdens and your problems have multiplied to the point where you are exhausted trying to carry them by yourself.  When you woke up this morning, did you wish that you could have stayed in bed all day long?  Are you having trouble sleeping because of the thoughts that keep hounding you?  Maybe you are weighted down with guilt over past sins and mistakes you have committed, and you feel condemned with no place or no one to turn to who would understand your situation and you feel that you are beyond help and hope.  Maybe you have been rejected to the point that you feel no one could, or would, love you and you are desperate.  Maybe you have tried drugs, alcohol, the party lifestyle and other activities that you are ashamed of and you can’t drown out the nagging, condemning voices that bring pain and anguish with each and every thought when you are alone at night trying to escape the nagging voices that bombard your mind and keep you from the sleep that you so desperately need.  Can it be that you are holding on to unforgiveness in your heart and it has caused you to be so angry that you are seeking a way to avenge yourself, opening your heart to a root of bitterness even to the degree that your body has been affected and sickness has set in and it is making you a miserable person?

If any of these things describe you, I have good news for you.  I have been in most of these situations myself and have been delivered and set free, praise the Lord and now it is your turn!  Let me tell you about my Lord, my friend and my Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was God in an earthy form of man.  His purpose was to set the captive free of sin, and to give Himself a ransom for all who would receive him and believe in him and repent of their sins, because God didn’t want anyone to be lost but that all would come to repentance.

Jesus read this in the synagogue about Himself in Luke 4:18-19:
“‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’”

These things were written about Him back in the Old Testament in the book of Isaiah and were fulfilled years later in the New Testament times.  If these things are true, which they are, then, this is great news for you.

There have been many people over the years that felt somewhat like you do today and they have been set free and I am one of them, praise the Lord!  Today can be a start of a new life and a new beginning for you, a day of complete deliverance for you.  If God can carry the weight of the world on His shoulders, He can carry you and relieve you of your burdens and set you free.  Jesus said He was sent to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captive and to set at liberty those that are bruised, you just read it.

I am telling you the truth, God loves the sinner but He hates their sin.  If the Lord is using this Tidbit to convict your heart of your sin, respond with deep repentance and tell the Lord that you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive you, to come into your heart and life and to be your Lord and Savior.  Make sure you spend some time and pray through.

When the Lord’s peace and joy floods your very soul you will know it has been completed, then you can rejoice with assurance of your salvation, not always wondering if you have been saved or not, like so many are in the habit of doing; it will be settled in your mind.  Then being set free, you will be able to rejoice and be exceedingly glad and you can give those burdens to the Lord and let Him carry them for you because He loves and cares for you.  Something to think about, have a super day and may God bless you and yours!!
