This is too much for me to comprehend Lord; that you would lay down your life for a wretch like me. You saw me in my sin and shame yet you took on yourself all the blame and you were willing to die for me when I was such a total freak and an enemy of yours, I wonder if the angels cried! Your love for me is far greater than I can possibly understand.
You came to earth to die for me on a cruel cross at Calvary, plus you felt the hurt and the pain but you never cursed or ever blamed anyone your words were, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Your Word also says “There is no greater love than this that a man lay down his life for a friend.” But you went the extra mile you laid down your life not only for your friends but also for your enemies.
It is an amazing thing what you did; laying aside your deity coming to earth as a babe, how can a man fathom such a thing, a King being born in a stable, the creator of the whole world lying in an animal trough. Your life here was so short but you accomplished so much, you healed the sick and the lame, you raised the dead for that is part of why you came. You showed compassion and love through healing and teaching and casting out demons and setting the captives free. You rose to total victory when you cleansed our sins and set us free, I wonder if the angels cried.
I can’t thank you or praise you enough for what you have done for me and for my wife and family. The cross that you bore was my cross, the shame you bore was my shame, the pain and suffering you endured should have been mine but you were willing to accept it on my behalf. When your life here was coming to a close and you were hanging between heaven and hell feeling that even your Father had forsaken you your words were, “It is finished,” meaning that everything you came to earth to accomplish was done and then you closed your eyes and died. At any point you could have called ten thousand angels but you were willing to give your life a ransom for all who would receive your free gift of salvation, praise your precious Name. Jesus You died and was buried in a tomb but that wasn’t the end, in three days You rose from the dead completing what you chose to come here to do on our behalf. The price of our peace was upon you and by your stripes we are healed praise the Lord!!
The Bible says in 1st Peter 2:24–25, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” (KJV)
You might want to read Isaiah chapter 53 also. If this doesn’t sadden you as well as excite you and make you want to rejoice or even repent, if need be, then you better feel your pulse to see if you are still alive. And it doesn’t end there. Jesus then ascended back to glory where He intercedes for you and me. How amazing it is that Jesus is pleading on our behalf, He stands in as our mediator before God the Father when the accuser comes and accuses us, and we don’t even deserve it. What an amazing love!
If you are reading this and you don’t know Him as Savior and Lord you can. Jesus loves you so much that he did all this for you also. There is room at the Cross for you! Just tell the Lord that you are a sinner and that you are sorry and you want Him to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to be Lord of your life. If you are sincere, welcome to the family of God.
