No Walls

I was praying this morning and walls came to mind; how we allow walls to be erected in our minds.  We can allow this to happen through unbelief and doubt, also through bitterness, unforgiveness and pride, as well as other sins.  Any time we sin and do not repent, confess and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, we open the door to the enemy of our souls, allowing him to start erecting walls of separation and divisions in our minds.  When we allow ourselves to become angry, bitter, unforgiving and revengeful, we allow the enemy access to our minds; then we are in a downward spiral to our destructive emotions which the enemy can use to his benefit and for our destruction.

Read what God’s Word says in Ephesians 4:26-27, “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”

Should we ever feel angry?  Yes, but we need to control our anger.  Jesus was angry, but He was angry for a good reason and He didn’t allow bitterness to consume Him, no, He was without sin because His was a righteous anger.  If we allow anger to turn to bitterness, and then revenge, we will destroy ourselves.

I personally know a lady that was angry and bitter, and took revenge and killed someone; she has spent close to 25 years in prison and may spend the rest of her life there because of it.  We all know that jails and prisons are loaded with people that fall into that category.

Whether you are a believer or not, I believe the enemy of our souls is behind all these destructive practices and we need to resist Him so that he would flee from us, if we are believers.  When we get angry and bitter towards someone, we can also destroy their reputation through gossip and slander, bringing judgment on ourselves.  Look what Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Remember how Jesus forgave us when we repented and were born-again while we were still His enemies, taking our sins upon Himself, He shed His blood, being crucified, died, buried and rising from the dead, so that we could be forgiven and justified, just as though we had never sinned.   We need to forgive also, those that sin against us even if they are our enemies.  We can never be victorious in the faith unless we forgive others and start loving them.  But we should never forget that we have an enemy and his demon helpers that are trying to keep us angry, bitter and unforgiving.  We need to live as children of God in all areas of our lives which will help us in our battle against the forces of darkness.

Read Ephesians 6:10-18, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

Spend time with God daily and spend time in the Word and prayer, making these a priority, and as you repent and forgive, the walls will come down and you will enjoy sweet fellowship with the Lord and others.  Praise the Lord!  Remember when you forgive your enemies and start loving them; you will be set free, halleluiah!

I have given you something to think about but don’t just take my word for it, study the Word for yourself.  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!
