If you are a believer you should be a new and different
person on the inside. The Bible says
this about a born-again believer in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things
have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Without the Lord we could never experience this in our lives
or the forgiveness of our sins and complete reconciliation to our Creator. Read what it says in 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, “Now all things are of God, who has
reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of
reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the
word of reconciliation.
Now then, we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you
on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be
sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Without the Lord we couldn’t know the correct interpretation
of His Word and put it into practice, also our lives would never have changed because
we wouldn’t have the Word and our faith would be null and void. Without the Lord none of these things could
ever happen, only He has made them possible. Without the Lord everyone would be miserable, not
having any real peace, joy or unconditional love.
We would live in total devastation where violence would occur
with no restraint and there would be no hope for anything to change. It would be like it was in Noah’s day, before
the Lord flooded the earth because of the violence taking place in that day. Life would not be as it is today; in fact, there
would be no life at all. The sad thing
is that many people live like there is no God, living self-serving lives, thinking
that they evolved and there is no hope for their miserable existence. Many wishing they didn’t have to face another
day. It is hard for me to imagine how
people lose loved ones, homes and, some, all of their earthly possessions because
of storms, floods or other tragic events they have faced and still go on with
no hope because they choose to resist and deny that God exists.
But there is hope because God does exist; not a god made by
hands but the one and only true God that created the universe, all living beings
and all creation for His good pleasure.
It
says this in Colossians 1:13-20:
“He has delivered us
from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His
love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were
created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were
created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all
things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the
preeminence.
For it pleased the
Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all
things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having
made peace through the blood of His cross.”
I don’t know where I would be without God, maybe dead from
an overdose of drugs or some other sickness related to drugs or alcohol and I would
still have asthma, which the Lord healed me of years ago and I know that I would
have an extremely hard time facing another day. I don’t even like to think about it, but God
does exist and I am in a whole different scenario, praise God! I have a hope and a future and when I leave
this life I have a place with the Lord. I
have been blessed with a wife that loves me unconditionally and a loving family.
I not only have the American dream but I
get to live with hope every single day.
If you don’t have this hope, it is only a prayer away. God has a plan for each person and that plan is
to prosper us and not harm us but to give us a hope and a future. What you need to do is believe on the Lord
Jesus and the Word says that you will be saved. If you truly believe, ask the Lord to come
into your heart and to be your Lord and Savior.
Don’t be afraid to humbly tell Him that you are a sinner in need of His
forgiveness. And don’t be in a rush,
wait on the Lord to fill you with His peace, love and joy then thank Him for
what He has done. Share what has happened
to you with others then get a Bible and start studying. Find a church where the Bible is being
preached and start growing in the Lord by putting the Word into practice. Something to think about! Have a super day and may the good Lord bless
you and yours.
