What is the greatest gift that men can obtain?  I believe it is God’s amazing grace, His unmerited favor on His creation namely Jesus Christ.  Knowing Jesus is the prize for every believer.

Thinking about the plan of God for man is nothing short of mind boggling, just trying to comprehend how God came to exist boggles my mind.  The existence of God has baffled people for years.  Somehow before the creation of the world, as we know it, God existed.  In the prayer of Moses, a man of God, Moses said this in Psalms 90:2, “Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”  In our finite minds man cannot understand how this could be.  How did God come to exist and where did He come from? This is a question that I don’t think any man can answer except for saying that He always was.

God says this about Himself in Revelations 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God,  ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’”  These are the first and the last letters in the Greek Alphabet, indicating that the Lord God is the beginning and end of all things.  

God is also omniscient which means He knows all things, how can that be?  I don’t know, but I believe it is true.  The writer of Hebrews also believed this, he wrote this in Hebrews 4:13, “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”

There are so many questions that we would like to have answers to but this is where a man has to live by faith.  This reminds me of a ministry called, “It takes more faith to be an Atheist.”  If you think about all that we do know about God and the Universe, this statement is true.  We may not have all the answers but what we do know is all truth.  When you think about how intricate the universe was created with the stars, sun, moon, the galaxies and planets and everything in order, you realize that there had to be a designer, or creator, and that is God.  There isn’t a person who couldn’t know this if they had a desire to.

God has made it very clear to them and it says so in Romans 1:18-20, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”

Even though man will never have all the answers about God it has been made very clear that He exists and He has created all things.  This makes it clear that no one will be able to stand before Him on the Day of Judgment and claim they didn’t know that there was a creator and that the world did not come to exist by the ‘big bang theory.’  When you think of all that God has done, how can you not get excited about who He is and what He is.  And after all this, God poured out His amazing grace on us in the form of His Son Jesus, praise be to God!  If you are still straddling the fence in unbelief I hope this will help.  God bless and have a great day.
