Life Changing Experience

Think about the experiences that changed your life forever?  There are many experiences that made a drastic difference in our lives.  Some were life changing, some were temporary. Sometimes change is a very good thing and sometime change isn’t so good.

Change doesn’t normally affect just a single person but will usually affect others as well.  When a person is single then starts dating it effects more than just the person that just started to date.  What about marriage, that affects many more people than just the couple that got married.  And it is a life changing event.  It should be a one-time event, but sad to say about half the marriages that take place today end in divorce.  Divorce is another life changing event that shouldn’t take place.

Here is another example, becoming ill can be temporary or life-changing, depending on the seriousness of the illness.  Accidents can be minor or very severe bringing a temporary change or change your life forever.  Many choices we make can bring about a temporary change or a lifetime change.  Some of the choices we make mess up our lives terribly and some choices we make can either bring life or death.

The things we say can also either bring blessings or curses, life or death. In either case these are life changing things that you have control over. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”  And also it says in Proverbs 15:4, “A wholesome tongue is the tree of life, but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.” KJV Bible.  You have a choice in how you use your tongue.  To some people gossip seems to taste sweet, to others hiding secrets seems to be a better choice.

So we know that circumstances and choices that we make, or sometimes others make for us, can be temporary or life changing experiences.  There is one life changing experience that we can make that will change our lives for the better and change our lives forever.  It is the choice we make when the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins and God draws us to Jesus Christ, His beloved Son.  We can either reject the call and choose death, or we can receive the call choosing life, repenting and confessing our sins and asking the Lord to forgive our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness with His shed blood.

I hope whoever reads this will not be like King Agrippa who heard Paul’s message about how He came to believe in Acts 26:1-23.  This was King Agrippa’s response to Paul in verse 24, “And while Paul was saying this in his defense, Festus said in a loud voice, Paul you are out of your mind, your great learning is driving you mad.”  Then in verse 28, “And Agrippa replied to Paul, in a short time you will persuade me to become a Christian?”  Then the king, Festus, the governor, and Bernice left and drew aside.  What a shame, they had their chance and refused to accept the invitation to believe in Jesus, a very sad decision, I hope you won’t make that same choice.

There have been many who have received the Lord resulting in joy and gladness.  I hope this is your testimony, praise the Lord.  God bless and have a great day.
