Please
read John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.”
And,
there is more fantastic news, no one needs to work, or can they do any kind of
work, to make themselves good enough to be right with God!! God’s word says in Isaiah 64:6, “But we
are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us
away,” and Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God.”
So, if
you are keeping track of your good works to be sure they will outdo your bad
works, forget it, Jesus took care of all that when he became the sacrificial
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Christianity is the only religion that you
can’t work to achieve your goal of being right with God, because Jesus the Son
of God did the work for us, praise the Lord!!
Check
out Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
It makes
it very clear, if anyone is saved and in right standing with God, it is the
Lord and Him only that made it possible, and nothing we could contribute to it,
plain and simple. If we could contribute
to it, we could boast about what we had done, but that is all eliminated, so
praise the Lord for His finished work.
If you think about it, how could you know if you did enough good works
to get yourself in right standing with God in the first place? Like I said earlier, Jesus’ blood demonstrated
His love because without it none of us could be washed and cleansed of our
sins.
Here is
more good news, Jesus wants everyone to repent and turn from their wicked ways
and turn to him. God’s word says in 2
Corinthians 7:10,
“For
godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the
sorrow of the world worketh death.” So, if
you want a true friend, do what the word says, truly repent and ask the good
Lord to come in and be your Lord and Savior.
I pray
that this was a help and a blessing to you and yours and may the good Lord
bless you and yours and may you have a super day. If you haven’t yet, be sure to thank and
praise the Lord for He is truly worthy!!
