If a true
believer sins, it should make that person miserable until the person repents
and confesses the sins to God and to the person or persons they sinned against,
if need be.
King
David was a good example of this, when he repented he was forgiven and restored,
please read Psalms 51:1-17, “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your
lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my
transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my
sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight— that
You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Behold, I
was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You
desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to
know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall
be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have
broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do
not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore
to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I
will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver
me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue
shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth
shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would
give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a
broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— these, O God, You will not
despise.”
Think of
this, King David hid his sins in his heart for a long period of time, close to
a year from what I understand, and he was miserable. Please read verses 7-12 again and meditate on
just how miserable David was, David said this “Purge me with hyssop, and I
shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and
gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my
sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and
renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and
do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”
When
King David truly repented and confessed and God forgave him, the joy of the
Lord was restored to him. True repentance
and confession make all the difference in the world in spiritual matters. God seeks the humble and repented heart, that
he will not despise. When we choose to
humble ourselves before the Lord and repent and confess our sins, he is
faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness praise
God!!
Please
read 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
So, if
you have sinned, don’t try to hide it from God like King David, he already knows
about your sin and desires to forgive you and restore you. So, the quicker you truly repent and confess
and turn from it, the quicker you will be set free and the joy of the Lord will
return, and remember the joy of the Lord is our strength!!
Enough said,
may all of you have a super day and may the good Lord bless all of you with his
perfect peace, love and joy and health and happiness!!
