When God’s Son became a man, God had already put the perfect
plan in the works and that was to prosper us and not to harm us but to give us
a hope and a future. Without God’s Son
becoming a man, this would not take place. The Word of God says this in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the
world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” This meant whoever, which includes even me
and you, as unworthy as we are, God loved even us, and His plan was to work
everything out for our good, if we will let Him by being obedient and trusting
Him.
The way things were, in what we call the Old Testament, there
was a sacrificial system set up. So, for
sins, people would bring an animal without any defect and the Priest would prepare the animal for the sacrifice, then he
would go into the Holy of Holy’s, behind the Curtain and put some of the blood
on the Mercy Seat for the forgiveness of sins; but only the Priest that was on
duty that day could go behind the Curtain, everyone else was prohibited from
going back there. Without Jesus becoming
a man, that system would more than likely be still in effect today. But God the Father had a different plan, He
would provide one sacrifice for all who would put their trust in Him, for all
time and that would be His only begotten Son Jesus, praise God!! According to the Word of God, the animal’s
blood was a covering over of sin and could never wash away the sin completely, so
without Jesus’ atoning sacrifice of himself shedding His blood no sins could be
completely forgiven.
Please read Hebrews chapter 9 yourself along with, Hebrews
10:1-18, which says, “For the law, having
a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can
never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year,
make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered?
For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of
sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is
not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. Therefore,
when He came into the world, He said: ‘Sacrifice and offering You did not
desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices
for sin you had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—In the volume of
the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.’ Previously saying,
‘Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not
desire, nor had pleasure in them’ (which are offered according to the law),
then He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.’ He takes away the
first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified
through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest
stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can
never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins
forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His
enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever
those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for
after He had said before, ‘This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in
their minds I will write them,’ then He adds, ‘Their sins and their lawless
deeds I will remember no more.’ Now where there is remission of these, there is
no longer an offering for sin.”
Without Jesus coming as a man none of this could have taken
place, and we would still be in our sins with no remedy, because the blood of
the animals could never make us right with God the Father or put us in right
standing with Him; only the blood of Jesus and being washed and cleansed by it
has that kind of power, praise the Lord!! Think about this in Isaiah 53:5-8, “But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of
us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He
was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is
silent, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment,
and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the
living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken.”
The Word says by Jesus’ stripes we are healed, because He
became the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, the sacrificial
Lamb. And, because of this we can be
washed and cleansed of all sin and all unrighteousness. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:18, “‘Come now, and let us reason together,’
Says the Lord, ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as
snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.’” Without
Jesus coming to earth as a man these things wouldn’t have been accomplished. And more than that, we would have never known
the unconditional love and grace and mercy and His unmerited favor and His
forgiveness and His restoration power, praise the Lord!!
If you would like to know these things in a personal way, one
way it can happen is through Godly sorrow which results in true repentance
which is not just talk or just words but is an action word, a willingness to
turn away from your sins and turn towards God, confessing your sins and asking
the Lord to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
Check out 1 John 1-9, “If
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
And then check out 2 Corinthians 7:10, “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be
regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
I hope this has been an encouragement and a blessing, may
the good Lord bless you and yours and may you all have a super, super day!! And if you haven’t yet, don’t forget to
thank and praise the Lord for He is truly, truly worthy!!
