Your Secret Sins

Read Luke 12:1-5, “In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, ‘Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!’”

The Lord is Omnipresent, He knows all things, and nothing is hidden from Him that won’t be exposed at the right time.  Read Galatians 6:7-10, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

You may be able to hide your sins from people, but you can’t hide anything from God.  The problem with trying to hide your sin is that if you are a true believer you will feel miserable; for your sin will cause you to be separated from your God.  Read Isaiah 59:1-3, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perversity.”

I know that people will say that was the Old Testament and it is not for today; I’ve got news for you Jesus quoted from the Old Testament and so did others in the New Testament.  Please read 1 Corinthians 10:1-11, “Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, ‘The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.’ Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.”

These warnings were for us in our day.  I don’t think anyone can get a true understanding of the New Testament without having a grasp on the Old Testament!!  The whole Bible was inspired by God, not just the New Testament and it is all one book that is separated into two parts.  Let me say this, I know we are not justified by the law, but we are justified by the grace of God, Praise His Holy Name!!  God’s Word says that the righteous shall live by faith!!

If you are living in secret sin be sure that the Lord knows, and it will cause you misery and a separation from your God until you repent and confess those sins to God and turn to God from those sins.  Repentance isn’t just a matter of changing one’s mind, it is a conscious decision to change direction and to live a holy life, leaving the old life behind, to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh anymore!!

I think I have said enough.  My prayer is that you will do the right thing and make the right choice if you are in this situation.  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!
