Read Hebrews 13:15, “Therefore
by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the
fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”
Some people would have more reason to give the Lord a sacrifice
of praise, like our brothers that are being severely persecuted for their faith,
or others that are going through severe circumstances like depression or other
ailments. Think of Job, for instance, he
lost almost everything he had but he still praised the Lord. I would say that was a definite sacrifice of
praise. We need to give a joyful noise
unto the Lord also.
Read Psalm 100, “Make
a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come
before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who
has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His
pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with
praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy
is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”
Think of this, when the Holy Spirit convicts or corrects us
of sin, that is a good thing because if this does not happen in your life when
you have sinned then you need to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.
In the book of Hebrews, it says God disciplines
those He loves yes, He corrects all those that belong to Him. Read Hebrews 12:4-8, “You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you
have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, do not
despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by
Him; for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He
receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what
son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening,
of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.”
We don’t like to rejoice over hardships, but we should, what
did Jesus say? In this world you will
have tribulation but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world. Maybe the secret of being an overcomer is to
be able to rejoice in all things whether we think it is good or not and thank
and praise the Lord in and through it all!! Doesn’t the Bible say that all things work
together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according
to His purpose? So even in trials and
hardships and problems we need to praise the Lord, for He is worthy!! Now read 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “in everything give thanks; for this is the
will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
I have said this I don’t know how many times; when you can
praise the Lord in the valley or desert place as much as you can praise Him on
the mountaintop there will be no more valleys, it will change you whole perspective
and the way you perceive the valley or the desert place. I hope this has been an encouragement and an inspiration
for you to start thanking and praising the Lord all the much more for He is
worthy!! May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you all have a super
day!!
