If you know of God and how righteous He is and how holy he is, how can we being filthy because of the sin nature we were born with, born in sin and shapen in iniquity as David said in Psalms 51, how can we become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus? This is a mystery but it is possible.
Read what God’s Word says about our condition in Isaiah 64:6,
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and
all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and
our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
It also says this in God’s Word in Ecclesiastes 7:20, “For there is not a just man upon earth,
that doeth good, and sinneth not.”
And also this in Romans 3:9-20, “What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before
proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; as it is written,
There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is
none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are
together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their
throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison
of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: their
feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways: and the
way of peace have they not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes. Now
we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under
the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty
before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified
in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
When you read these verses you would think it would be absurd
to think that we could actually be the righteousness of Christ or covered by
Christ’s righteousness, but the Word of God says that we can praise the Lord. In every other religion you have to work
before you can be worthy of this kind of status but in the Christian faith you
can’t do any kind of works to make yourself right with God. The good news is that He has done it all for
us by providing His Son Jesus. Your faith
to believe, your repentance and your salvation are all from God, through His amazing
grace and we can do nothing to deserve it.
Read Ephesians 2:4-10, “But
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when
we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in
Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of
his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of
works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in
them.”
Let’s start with faith read Romans 12: 3-5, “For I say, through the grace given unto me,
to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he
ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man
the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members
have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every
one members one of another.”
Your repentance comes through the Holy Spirit read John 16:7-11,
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is
expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come,
he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of
sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my
Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is
judged.”
Now read on salvation in Psalms 37:38-40, “But the transgressors shall be destroyed
together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. But the salvation of the
righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the
Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked,
and save them, because they trust in him.”
So the Lord does it all and all we have to do is repent and
receive His free gift of grace. God’s
only begotten Son laid His life down and suffered terribly, was crucified, died
and was buried and rose again on the third and because He took our blame and
our shame and shed His blood, the innocent for the guilty. When we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, He
covers us with His righteousness, praise the Lord!!
This is how Paul explained how we can be reconciled to God,
read 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, “For the love
of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all,
then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not
henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose
again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have
known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to
wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.”
So, if you want to be reconciled to God, repent, which means
to turn away from your sins and turn to God and ask Him to be your Lord and
Savior. Then find a church where you can
grow and share what the Lord has done in your life. May the good Lord bless you and yours and may
you have a super day!!
