I thought I would do a praise Tidbit today because praising
the Lord is good medicine. The state the
world is in today, with the fear that people have and the anxious moments that
so many are feeling, with depression being so wide spread, we need something
that will lift our spirits and bring joy back into our hearts. I don’t think that a day goes by without
hearing about some kind of tragedy and with all the negativity that is going on
I believe we need a lift that will take out the negative and bolster the
positive in our lives. I believe
Christians are also affected by the onslaught of the negative news also. I want to remind everyone that we were
created to praise the Lord, believer and non-believer alike, and I believe it
is good medicine to do so, as I said earlier in this message.
Please read Ephesians 1:11-13, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his
own will: that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in
Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise.”
We were made in God’s image and were created to praise
Him!! In fact everything He created was
created to praise Him!!
Read Psalms 148:1-14, “Praise
ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise
ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and
moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and
ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for
he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and
ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the Lord from the
earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy
wind fulfilling his word: mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all
cedars: beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: kings of the
earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: both young men,
and maidens; old men, and children: let them praise the name of the Lord: for
his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also
exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the
children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.”
Please read Psalms 149:1-5, “Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in
the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the
children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the
dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord
taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let
the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.”
Now, please read Psalms 150:1-6, “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the
firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to
his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him
with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him
with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise
him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the
Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
Verse 6 sums it up, it says, “Let everything that has breath
praise the Lord!!” When we are praising
the Lord, putting our all into it, it takes our minds off of ourselves and our
problems and the world’s situation and puts them on the Lord, the best place
that our minds could be.
This just came to my mind; God created everything in six
literal days and on the seventh day He rested, how many of us really do rest on
the seventh day, or is it just business as usual? It would do us good to listen to what the Lord
commanded us to do; to rest on the Sabbath!! I believe this is also good medicine and if we
apply both of these things to our lives it gets our minds off the negative things
for a while, it well help us to think more positive and will be good medicine
for us.
Now please read Philippians 4:4-8, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your
moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing;
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever
things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.”
I have given you something to think about. May you have a
super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!
