Not Wanted

Have you ever heard someone say that you are not wanted?  If you have, how did that make you feel?  People can make you feel unwanted by the way they talk and also by the way they act towards you.  Sometimes people act out by bullying others that they don’t want around and others just ignore them.   Sometimes people gossip about people they don’t like, while being nice to them when they are face to face with them.  I think if we were honest, we would all have to admit that we have all been guilty of this kind of behavior from time to time.

But what about Jesus, He has never acted that way, He loves everyone but He was, and still is, being rejected, how do you think it makes Him feel?  He was not only rejected but He came to His own and they received Him not.  The very ones that He came to help, to bless, to deliver and encourage, to heal and to save, by shedding His blood for their sins, rejected Him.   Yes, even when they were His enemies, He laid down His life for them and He still reaches out with love and compassion to them and many of the Israelites still reject Him.  But what about those that aren’t Jews but Gentiles, He also shed His precious blood for their sins, but many of them also reject Him.  Many of the Pharisees, Sadducees, scribes and teachers of the law hated Him because they were jealous of Him since He was drawing great crowds and taking away the attention that they thought they deserved, along with other reasons I won’t go into now.

Let me say this before I go on, that a servant isn’t greater than His master and if they treated Him that way they will also treat those that follow Him that way.    Jesus seemed to be, by many then and now, the most misunderstood person that ever lived.  People reject Him and He is the only one that can ever save them from their sins and make them right with God!!  In fact He is the only way to get to God, please read John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I think of this rejection when I read Matthew 8:28-34 and other accounts of this in God’s Word.  Please read this for yourself 28-34, “And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.”

Here we have two demon possessed men that are so violent that no one dared to go by them.  These men have no hope whatsoever, outside of Jesus, and He comes along and has compassion on them and delivered them and set them free.  And all the thanks He got for it was that the whole town begged Him to leave their region.  Where was the compassion and love from the people for the men that were delivered and set free of demon possession and also for Jesus for setting these men free?  These people cared more for pigs than they did for people and, let’s be honest, many still feel that way today about animals.  Jesus was someone that could have provided for all their needs and they rejected Him and begged Him to leave their region.

Question: are you rejecting Jesus because of unbelief or anger or, if you are a believer, by the way you live your life?  Maybe you have been conforming to the world and you are putting worldly things ahead of the Lord.  Maybe you have been listening to the wrong voices and you need to shut down the computer and the other electronic devices you own and spend so much time on, and just be still before the Lord!!  Some people can make things sound so good but be oh so wrong in what they are saying.

If you want to know if something is true and good, dig into the Word of God don’t just take someone’s word for it.  When you know the truth it will set you free, it will not put you in bondage.  Jesus said this in John 8:31-32, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Now read verse 36, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

If you want to be set free and you are rejecting Jesus for any reason, please don’t.  Repent of your sins today, which means to reject your sins and go in the other direction, and ask Him to come into your heart and life, if you do not know Him as your personal savior.  If you are a believer and you are rejecting Him by being involved in things that you should not be involved with, you need to repent also and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you from all your un-righteousness and to restore the joy of His Salvation to your heart and life.

I have given you something to think about and I hope you will, this is very serious, probably the best decision you will ever make, I hope you make the right choice!!  May you have a super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!
