Question: When God looks at your
heart what are the things He sees? What qualities
do you have that God would be pleased with? I know that every born-again believer is
covered by the Lord’s righteousness and His blood, praise the Lord, but when
the Lord looks at your heart, does He see a heart of stone because of
stubbornness and rebelliousness or does He see a heart of flesh, soft and
pliable, one filled with love and a strong faith? God’s Word says that man looks at the outward appearance,
but God looks at the heart.
But what about the heart being
deceitfully wicked? This is the way we
are born; we are born with a sin nature along with the fact that our hearts are
wicked and the only way we can have a clean heart is through the blood of Jesus
when we truly repent and turn from our wicked ways and confess our sins and ask
the good Lord to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We need to do away with the old man with its
evil practices and put on the new man, not being conformed to this world’s pattern,
but we need to transform, or renew, our minds so that we will know what the
good and perfect and just will of God is, then we need to walk in it uprightly
before our God. Even those that are part
of the Communities (Church) need to confess and repent of sins at times.
Please read Revelations 3:20 which
was written to the communities (Church), “Behold,
I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I
will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
Some people teach that when you
are born-again you have been forgiven of all your sins past, present and future,
my answer is read what Jesus had to say to the churches in Revelations chapter
2 and 3. Then seek the Lord in prayer
and sincerity and let Him speak to your heart about the truth. Jesus spoke about repentance many times in the
scriptures. If you have read God’s Word
seeking truth you know what I am saying is truth.
Back to the heart, which seems to get people in a lot of
trouble. When I am talking about the
heart here, I am not talking about the muscle the keeps us alive, I am talking
about our very being, the center of our thought life, what helps us to make the
right choices and decisions in our lives, the very center of our being.
Think about David, God said he was a man after His own heart,
would God say that about you? I think
the old saying is true and this is what it is, “I would rather see a sermon than
hear one anytime.” Seeing a sermon lived
out in a person’s life is what pleases the Lord. Many people can preach, and some do, but they
are not living it out and God knows who the pretenders are. Like I said earlier, man looks at the outside,
God doesn’t just look at the outside, but he sees the heart and He knows what
is in everyone’s heart.
Enough said, I pray that this is a blessing and a help, and I
pray that the good Lord will bless you and yours and may you all have a super
day!!
