Eyes Opened

I was just reminded of a song, I think it is called, “Open my eyes, Lord.”   Unless the Lord opens our eyes and removes the veil from our minds, how will we see clearly and understand His Word as we should?  So many people say that they are preaching or teaching the truth, but are they?  I know for a fact that some are not and because of that there are many that are being led astray into false doctrine.

For instance, there is what they call hyper grace being taught and preached, then there are the prosperity preachers and teachers, and the name it and claim it preachers and teachers, and on and on it goes.  There are many today that seek the Lord’s hands but not His heart.  It is important to seek His heart and not just His hands, and we need to be careful that we don’t just give Him lip service.  The Word says this about that, “They honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”  We don’t want to be accused of that.

Before we read or study the word of God we all need to pray, asking the Lord to open our eyes and remove anything from our minds and to teach us through His precious Holy Spirit who is the true teacher and to give us wisdom and knowledge and discernment!!  Also, we could pray that the Word of God will truly be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths and ask the Lord to help us to hide the truths in our hearts that we might not sin against Him!!  Without God’s Word to lead and direct us we will fall into deception and the enemy’s trap.  The Lord is the only one that can open our spiritual eyes and minds. The two men that were walking down the road to Emmaus experienced this.

Please read Luke 24:13-16, “Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.”

Now read verses 30-31 in that same chapter, “Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.”

The Lord opened their spiritual eyes and minds so that they could see and understand clearly, and we need Him to do the same for us.  I hope this has been an encouragement to you and may you have a super day, and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!
