I want you to know that whatever situation you find yourself
in, God is there with you. God is
omnipresent so He fills the Universe with His presence. I know that is very hard to get your head
around but it is true, God is watching over all that is His and we cannot get
out of His sight.
Read what David said about this in Psalms 139:5-16, “Thou hast beset me behind and before, and
laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I
cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I
flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make
my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and
dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and
thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;
even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee;
but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to
thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's
womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous
are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid
from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts
of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy
book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as
yet there was none of them.”
We have a God that knows us inside and out and He still loves
us. God is also the God in the good
times and the God in the bad times. God allows
both happy times and also hard times to take place in our lives.
Read Ecclesiastes 7:14, “In
the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also
hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find
nothing after him.”
Now read what Job said to his wife when he was going through
his test in Job 2:9-10, “Then said his
wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But
he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What?
shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all
this did not Job sin with his lips.”
This shows that serving God is not meant to always be a walk
in the park, on a nice clear path, on a beautiful sunny day, sometimes there
will be storms on your path and a very bumpy road and you may not even
understand why but God has allowed them for a purpose to help you grow and,
maybe to show you how you will respond to them or maybe just to get your eyes
back on Him!!
The Syrians said that God was only the God of the hills and
not God of the valleys and read what God said about that in 1 Kings 20:23-28, “And the servants of the king of Syria said
unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than
we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger
than they. And do this thing, take the kings away, every man out of his place,
and put captains in their rooms: and number thee an army, like the army that
thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight
against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he
hearkened unto their voice, and did so. And it came to pass at the return of
the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight
against Israel. And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present,
and went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two
little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country. And there came a man
of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the Lord, because
the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the
valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and
ye shall know that I am the Lord.”
Because of what the Syrians said about God, they got a terrible
whipping because God is the God of both the hills and the valleys and we can
count on Him!! We serve a very powerful
and wonderful God. Something to think
about and have a super day and may God bless you and yours!!
