Start Praising

Let’s start out our day thanking and praising the Lord, for He inhabits the praises of His people.  I sort of picture this like an empty building with nothing in it, then it starts filling up with people and then they, at that time, inhabit that building.  Well when we start praising the Lord from a heart that has been cleansed and purified and has been washed by the blood of Jesus, He comes in and inhabits, not only that clean vessel but also the place where we are worshiping.  He takes His place of honor and when that sweet smelling aroma of praise and thanksgiving reaches His ears and nostrils He is so pleased with it, the aroma it gives out is much more pleasing than many fields of beautiful flowers.  I think He gets excited when we start to praise Him.  I believe that there is no excuse for a believer not to praise and thank the Lord every day at some time or other.

I know that many believers are struggling today with all kinds of problems but that is not an excuse not to thank and praise Him.  Just the fact that you are a born-again believer, saved by the grace of God should be enough to encourage you to thank and praise Him.  Try to remember this; no matter what you are facing, He is there with you and for you.  He has also experienced much pain and suffering in your place, even to the point of death, and the humiliation and shame being a curse and being separated from His Father and He did it all for us.

Read what is says in Galatians 3:13, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’)”

If you are in a situation where you find it very difficult to thank and praise the Lord, please read this it may help you take the right step and even do it joyfully.

Please read Hebrews 3:12-16, “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today,’ lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:

‘Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?

Now please read Psalms 9:1-14:
I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

When my enemies turn back,
They shall fall and perish at Your presence.
For You have maintained my right and my cause;
You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.
You have rebuked the nations,
You have destroyed the wicked;
You have blotted out their name forever and ever.

O enemy, destructions are finished forever!
And you have destroyed cities;
Even their memory has perished.
But the Lord shall endure forever;
He has prepared His throne for judgment.
He shall judge the world in righteousness,
And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!
Declare His deeds among the people.
When He avenges blood, He remembers them;
He does not forget the cry of the humble.

Have mercy on me, O Lord!
Consider my trouble from those who hate me,
You who lift me up from the gates of death,
That I may tell of all Your praise
In the gates of the daughter of Zion.
I will rejoice in Your salvation.”

This was talking to the Lord’s people back then and I believe it is also meant for the Lord’s people today.  David knew where his help came from and even when he was surrounded by his enemies he could thank and praise the Lord from whom his hope and deliverance came from and so can we.

I hope this has helped and it has been an encouragement to all who read it.  I have given you something to think about, wherever you find yourself in life.  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!  And please thank and praise the Lord today and every day for He is worthy!!
