People need the Lord! There is a desperate need in each person’s heart to fill the void in their life and that is Jesus. There are many that cringe at this saying, but without Jesus there is absolutely no hope. True believers have a reason to get up in the morning, for they have the peace and joy of the Lord in their lives.
Jesus said this in
John 10:10, “The thief does not come
except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have
life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Jesus said He came
that we might have life and have it more abundantly, if you contrast that with
why the thief comes, we can rejoice in the Lord. The thief comes to drag us down and keep us in
bondage, to steal our peace and joy and to destroy our happiness and ultimately
to kill.
Jesus taught this to
His disciples in John 16:33, “These
things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you
will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
The disciples had
been taught neither to despair nor to be frightened regardless of what they
might face; that they would not be alone but that the Lord would always be with
them. Jesus will never abandon us either
in our circumstances and situations; no, He will never leave us or forsake us.
In John 14:27, Jesus
said this also, “Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your
heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
When we allow the
Lord to have complete access to our lives He gives us His perfect peace, even
when we are struggling just to hang on; but the world’s peace is different, it
has peace only in the absence of struggles. When the true believer opens God’s Word and
reads the end of His love letter to them, it tells them that they win; not so
with the world of non-believers, they have no hope and in the end of time,
their hearts will fail them for fear.
Read Luke 21:25-26, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the
moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity,
the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the
expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of
the heavens will be shaken.”
Oh yes, in the end
men’s hearts will fail them for fear of what is taking place on the earth and
in the skies, but the Christian can rejoice at the fact that they will go on to
be with the Lord. For He will come back
with many of His angels at a time when many will not expect Him and He will take
His people with Him and they will ever be with the Lord where His peace, love
and joy will continue to be with them. The
battle will be over and the enemy will be totally defeated, praise the
Lord!!
This is one of the
reasons I said that everyone needs the Lord, but there are many reasons; let me
give you a few. Number one we need Him
now for ultimate wisdom and knowledge and we also need Him for fellowship and
comfort in trying times. We need His
protection and His provision, His healing powers and His grace and forgiveness.
We also need His correction and His unconditional
love and His blessings. Anyone that
wants to go with Him and live with Him eternally will need His salvation and forgiveness
and be covered by the precious blood of Jesus. Yes, I believe that everyone needs the Lord
now before it is too late.
If you would like a
relationship with Jesus and want to spend eternity with Him someday I believe
you can. God is seeking the humble and
contrite heart, which He will not despise. Ask Him to reveal himself to you and repent of
your sins, which means to turn away from them, and ask Him to forgive you and
to come in and be the Lord of your life. Don’t be in a hurry. If you are sincere, know this, He knows the
thoughts and intents of every heart so you can’t fool Him by just going through
the motions. So if you mean what you say,
then wait for Him to fill you with His peace, love and joy. Then go share what you have done with others
and start growing in your new found faith.
Something to think about! Have a
super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!
