Do any of you feel like your life is out of control and that you are being tossed about in the storms of life? I am talking to believers who feel that they are under the gun of oppression and guilt because things are just not going the way they expected. Maybe there is turmoil in your relationships or your marriage or with your family in general or maybe on the job or financially or you may be fighting one or more sicknesses. I want you to know that there is hope for you today and, if you are a believer, you already know this but may just need a reminder.
God loves you regardless of how you feel and even though you
don’t understand it all, God does and He is not surprised. Maybe you have been hit by fear and stress and
are anxious and worried and you need the peace of the Lord in your situation. Remember we have many enemies and the main one
is satan himself, along with all his demon helpers. They are out to kill, steal and destroy but we
have much more powerful friends in high places and multitudes of angels that
care about us and are ready to help us as the Lord commands them to. Sometimes we can feel so discouraged and down
that we even wonder if the Lord cares or notices what is going on in our lives.
I am here to encourage you and to tell
you He does care and He loves us and is on our side even when the evil one or
our circumstances or situations may cause us to think differently.
In Deuteronomy 31:6-8 it says this Moses speaking to Joshua,
“‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear
or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will
not leave you or forsake you.’ Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in
the sight of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this
people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and
you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He
will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be
dismayed.’”
Then in Hebrews 13:5-6 it says this, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you
have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we can confidently
say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”
We need to be reminded over and over again what Jesus said
in John 16:33, “I have said these things
to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation.
But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
We will face trials and circumstances; think about what Jesus
faced, He faced many that some of us will never have to face and He was victorious
so when we put our trust in Him we can also overcome whatever we face, with His
help. The Lord will never give us more
than we can handle and we will never be tempted beyond what we can bear because
He will always give us a way of escape.
So when you feel that you are going through the storms of
life and the waves are beating you down, read about this story in God’s Word in
Mark 4:35-41, “On that day, when evening
had come, he said to them, ‘Let us go across to the other side.’ And leaving
the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats
were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into
the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep
on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, do you not care
that we are perishing?’ And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace!
Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘Why
are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?’ And they were filled with great
fear and said to one another, ‘Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea
obey him?’”
So don’t throw away your confidence or your faith, the Lord
is still in the business of calming storms whether they be in your life or mine,
praise the Lord! So, hang in there and
be faithful and wait on the Lord. Something
to think about and may the good Lord bless you and yours and may your day be
filled with His peace, love and joy and may we, even in our circumstances, be
able to thank and praise the Lord for He is worthy!!
