Deliverer

Jesus teaches about prayer, read Matthew 6:9-13, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

Now focus on verse 12, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever!!”  Remember God never tempts us to do evil, but we need to ask God to keep us from the temptations of the evil one, the enemy of our souls.  Read James 1:12-13, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.”

Read what 1 Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

God will test people at times, but he never tempts people.  Sometimes we are drawn away by our own lust and desires and we fall into sin.  Read James 1:14-15, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.  Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.  “He didn’t come to make bad people good, but He came to make dead people live,” a quote from Ravi Zacharias!!  At one time we were all spiritually dead, but He brought life to our mortal bodies when we truly repented of our sins and turned from them, asking His forgiveness.  Jesus quickens our mortal bodies and brings spiritual life to our spiritual dead bodies by His sacrificial death and resurrection and by His blood.  There is no other name by which a man can be saved and delivered but Jesus.  He delivers us and covers us with His righteousness, praise His name!!

Read what it says in Ephesians 2:1-10, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Jesus has delivered us from the grip of sin in our lives so that we need no longer be slaves of sin; He is our deliverer if He is our Lord and Savior.  Praise be to God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son and His Holy Spirit, one God in three persons.  These are the true heroes and they alone can deliver us and all we can do is be broken over our sins and repent, which means turn away from our sins and trust in the Lord as our Lord and Savior.

I hope this has encouraged you and may you have a super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!  Don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord, for he is truly worthy!!
