A Word of Faith

A word of faith can change yours and other people’s perspective in their situation.  When Paul was shipwrecked in Acts 27 and everyone and everything looked really bad Paul spoke a word of faith and everything changed.  We all as Christians need to start speaking faith into situations and circumstances.

I wrote a blog on faith not long ago but it seems like so many Christians lack the ability to stand on faith and the ability to hang on and not give up on what they pray for or to believe the promises of God!  When there is a man of God to stand in the gap things change.

In the situation with Paul he was a prisoner on his way to Rome to state his case before Caesar.  On their voyage a fierce storm arose and fear gripped the sailors.  After not seeing the sun or moon for many days and being without food, they were ready to abandon the ship, fearing for their lives.  Then Paul, a man of faith and full of God’s Spirit, spoke up and assured the sailors that if they stayed on the ship there would be no loss of lives.  He also encouraged the men to take some nourishment and they did.  Having a man of faith there made all the difference in their situation, praise the Lord.

There are different examples of men of faith standing in the gap in people’s lives.  Another example that comes to mind is in 2 Samuel 1.  It is David and Goliath’s situation.  Here is a young boy full of faith that stands in the gap when the Israelites were going to fight the Philistines while Saul was the King.  Saul and his whole army were frightened and shaking in their boots when the giant came out and challenged them to fight him. These were all seasoned soldiers and David was just a young man.  The difference was David was a young man with great faith.  He believed that the weapon the giant would use against him would not prosper and, in the name of the Lord, he would defeat this Philistine giant and that is exactly what happened.

One of our problems is we live in a microwave world, expecting everything to happen immediately.  How many in this generation pray until the answer comes?  In days gone by people used to go to the altar and pray until there was a breakthrough, they didn’t give up.  Nowadays people might go to the altar for five or ten minutes and they are gone.  The backbone of the church are the prayer warriors because prayer it what helps move the hand of God!

If you have love ones that are lost and you are thinking that it is an impossibility for them to be saved, let me ask you a question, is anything impossible with the Lord, is His arm too short to save?  I will ask you another question, how big is your God?  Is there any situation or circumstance that God can’t handle?  No!  It isn’t God’s inability, it is our lack of faith, that hinders God’s answers.

Jesus said a very sad thing in Luke 18:7-8, “And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him though He bear long with them?  I tell you He will avenge them speedily.  Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh will He find faith on the earth?”  You should read this whole parable, it is about an unjust Judge and a widow woman.  This Judge neither feared God or man but because this widow woman kept coming and pestering him he granted her, her request.  She had faith and would not give up.  You noticed she kept speaking to the judge, her faith compelled her to continue to speak and not give up.

We need to speak faith to our bodies, we need to speak healing to our bodies and also deliverance to our bodies and many other things.  And whatever we pray for, unless they are selfish prayers, we need to believe that we will receive them.  Faith is trusting God and never letting doubt enter your mind.  If you doubt, then you can’t expect anything from God. So walk in faith, pray with faith and speak faith into your bodies and never give up.  God bless and have a great day!
