Heavenly Bread

Have you feasted on heavenly bread today?  Is Jesus a part of your life, is He your Lord and Savior or is He just another prophet, teacher or sugar daddy that you think you can manipulate into giving you everything you want?  Jesus claimed to be the bread that came down from heaven, have you spend time with Him today.  This reminds of the verse in Psalm 34:8 that says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”  And another verse in Isaiah 55:6 that says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found call ye upon Him while He is near.”

Many of Jesus’ disciples had a hard time believing that Jesus was God’s beloved Son partly because they knew His father and mother and partly because they lacked the faith to believe.  So when Jesus said that He was the bread that came down from heaven and they would have to drink His blood and eat His flesh they were offended.  Jesus was saying that His life had to become their own, He wasn’t talking about His real blood.  The Bible does talk about the body and blood of Jesus in the New Testament in 1st Corinthians 11:23–26, there it speaks about communion, which Christians partake of in remembrance of what their Lord and Savior did for them.

Think about what these disciples did, they left Him and walked with Him no more.  There was a problem then like there is today, people follow Jesus for what they can receive from Him.  They don’t follow the Lord for who He is and what He is, they follow Him because they see or hear about what He has done and what He can do.  I have said this many times, “If all you do is seek God’s hands you will never know His heart.”  These disciples were following Jesus because they were part of the five thousand people that were fed by Jesus and they were looking for another handout.  Jesus knows the heart of every man and when Jesus confronted them their hearts were laid bare before Him and He knew what their intentions were. Jesus knew that they weren’t true disciples, no, they were only followers. Their intentions weren’t to have Jesus be their Lord and Savior, no, they just wanted Him to be their provider.  Jesus wants much more than that, He wants a personal intimate relationship with everyone who will receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

Now I will ask you this question again, have you tasted of the bread that came down from heaven and seen that He is good?  Are you seeking Him while He may be found or are you going to wait until you are much older? The older you get the harder it will be, besides, you never know how long you have.  My advice is to seek Him now while you can find Him.

Remember if you leave this earth without Him then Hell will be your destiny and if you end up there you will be tormented forever and ever in the lake of fire.  This is not a joke, it is all true.  I know that you don’t hear about Hell and damnation very much anymore but it is still there waiting to devour all the unbelievers, the Devil, the Beast, the Antichrist and all the demons.  You don’t have to be a part of that unholy crowd.

If you feel the Holy Spirit’s conviction today don’t put it of any longer, weep and wail over your sins and ask the Lord to forgive you and to be your Savior and Lord.  The Lord seeks the humble and repentant heart and He will forgive and freely pardon you and you will be a child of God, praise the Lord!  Then you can start feasting on the heavenly bread, Jesus the Son of God.

If you have any prayer requests please let me know and I will pray for you. You don’t have to tell me who you are, if you don’t want to the Lord will know and that is what really counts.  God bless and have a great day!
