Read what Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
And what about John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the
life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.”
Now read John 1:14, “And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Now read Philippians 2:5-11, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in
the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself
of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the
likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and
became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also
hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
After reading all this, and I could add more, but I think
you got it, who would you say that Jesus was?
Another question: What was Jesus’ purpose and why was He here?
Well I think there were a few different
reasons. He made this clear when He
fulfilled the prophecy that was in Isaiah, read Luke 4:14-21, “And Jesus returned in the power of the
Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region
round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he
came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went
into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was
delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the
book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon
me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent
me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to
preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it
again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the
synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this
scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
He did proclaim the good news and everything He said was
true. He was sent to proclaim release to
the captives and to help the blind to see. Some were physically blind, and all were
spiritually blind. He also set the
oppressed free, those who were burdened and browbeaten, intimidated and
oppressed, praise the Lord! He did all
this plus He raised the dead physically, He healed lepers and the lame and the
deaf, He brought hope to a nation that had no hope.
But this wasn’t all that He accomplished. He came to lay His life down so that He could
raise all of us from death to life because we were all dead in our trespasses
and sins, totally separated from God, if fact we were all enemies of God with
no possible way to get right with Him. But the Lord God had a plan before the
beginning of time and, praise the Lord, it included us and a way that we could
be put in right standing with God. Now
that plan would cost God and His Son a great price and much anguish and pain
and even separation for a time, but they were willing to pay the price to buy
our pardon and this could not be done without the shedding of blood. Without the shedding of blood there would be
no remission or forgiveness of sins. And
this could only be done with a perfect sacrifice, one without spot or blemish. Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, was the only
one that could accomplish this, and He was willing to do it. No one took His life, He willingly laid it
down, knowing what the cost would be, Praise the Lord. He suffered excruciating pain before He was
nailed to the cross.
Now read Isaiah 53:5, “But
he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Only by Christ’s crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection
could we be forgiven of our sins. Praise
the Lord, He was willing to do it so that we could be made right with God by
being washed and cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus!! In that way Jesus became the Savior of all
mankind, for any who would repent of their sins and turn from their wicked ways;
in other words, if they would have a change of mind and turn to the living
Christ, asking Him to be their Lord and Savior!!
There is so much more to say but you can read the Bible for
more details!! I pray that this will be
an encouragement for whoever reads it. May
the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!
