True wisdom comes from knowing the Lord but not just knowing the Lord, but in fearing the Lord also. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.” God is the only one that can give true wisdom and knowledge because He created life.
Read what the Word says in Job 5:13-14, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the
wily are brought to a quick end. They meet with darkness in the daytime and
grope at noonday as in the night.”
Men are often caught in their own traps. Paul later quoted part of this verse in 1
Corinthians 3:19 which says this, “For
the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, ‘He catches the
wise in their craftiness...’”
This is not saying that we don’t need to seek knowledge and
try to get an education, that is important in life, but if you try to run all your
affairs with worldly wisdom and neglect the wisdom of God then you will most
likely be led into deception because God’s wisdom is the foundation of our
purpose in life and the fundamental purpose that gives us true meaning in life.
There are many people that foolishly say
that there is no God.
Read what it says in Psalms 14:1, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they
do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.”
This does not mean that the person is ignorant or stupid;
they just refuse to believe that there is a God. What do you think God thinks when He hears
someone say there is no God? These
people lack true wisdom when they reject their Creator, no matter how smart and
intelligent they may be by worldly standards. To speak directly against the Creator is
foolishness according to the Word of God. Why does the Word say that the fear of the
Lord is the beginning of wisdom? Because
if there is no fear of the Lord before your eyes, you may end up taking
advantage of God!
Someday there will be a judgement of all the people that
ever lived and all their idle words will be shouted from the rooftops and all
our souls will be laid bare before the Judgment seat of Christ; all your deeds,
all the sins that you have committed will be laid before the multitudes and
there will be nowhere to hide, all of our lives will be transparent before the
crowds and there will be none without excuse. In God’s book everything is being recorded;
you can read all about these things in the book of Revelations and other books
of the Bible.
I know we hear a lot about God’s love, grace, mercy and
forgiveness but don’t forget God is also a just God and, being just, He has to
punish sin and He will and does; you find it woven all through His Word and He
hasn’t changed. Thank the Lord for what
we call the day of grace because without it we would all perish because of our
sins.
Read what Paul says about born-again believers in 1
Corinthians 3:10-15, “According to the
grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation,
and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon
it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is
Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one's work will become manifest, for
the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will
test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on
the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned
up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through
fire.”
If you are walking in the Spirit; repenting and confessing
your sins and walking humbly before your God with great reverence, then there
will be no condemnation, you will receive forgiveness and God’s grace and mercy,
praise the Lord! It seems like your
works are not as important as your intentions, or why, you do the works in the
first place. We could see many with
their works burnt up, being snatched from the burning fire, as it were, with no
rewards to show for what they had done. What
are your motives for what you are doing?
That is something to think about!
Those that seek their own wisdom while rejecting God will be
judged and they will go to the place of their own choosing where there will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth and be separated from God forever and it will all
be because of the choice they made. God
didn’t create Hell for man, so if you end up there it will be your choice. I pray that you won’t make that decision.
Let me encourage you today saying that no matter what you
are going through, God is bigger than all your problems and He is truly your
only hope, so call on Him while He may be found. Will not the God of the earth do good? Just taste and see that He is what His Word
says He is! He is good!! Something to think about! I hope you will have a super day. May the good Lord bless you and yours!!
