If God

If you are facing a battle today and you are a believer you can overcome, just hang on to your faith and trust God to take care of whatever it is.  If we do our part to help the situation, He will be faithful to do His part.  I want to encourage you today that if God be for you, you will win.  We all struggle with something; it may be temptation, it may be sickness, it may be a loss of a job, it may be a habit we just can’t seem to break, it may be a break down in a relationship or even a divorce or a death in a family or something else but whatever it is, with God’s help we will win and overcome in the end if we don’t give up.

I am not trying to minimize anyone problems, I struggle with some things myself at times and some are very devastating.  I also know that God knows what is best in each of our lives and He is working all things out for our good, even if we don’t understand what is going on.  I know there are many skeptics out there that say if there is a God then why do bad things happen to good people?  First of all there are none that are good according to Jesus, read Luke 18:18-19, “Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, ‘Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?’ So Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.’”

We don’t live in a perfect world or a perfect environment and many are sick because of it.  Many people are sick because of the pollutants they breathe each day and many of us don’t eat the right foods and we suffer the consequences.  God’s Word says we will reap what we sow.  There are many reasons why people in general, as well as believers, get sick some of the things we suffer are from our genetics, some are caused by anger, resentment and un-forgiveness, some are caused by natural occurrences and many of us bring sickness and other things on ourselves because of our bad choices.  If we made better choices in many areas of our lives we wouldn’t be in some of the situations and circumstances that we find ourselves in and if we could control our eating habits and eat what is good for us and not just what tastes good and also get on a good exercise program, we would feel much better.  A good diet and exercise would help take care of many of the problems we have.

Then there are those who feel guilty over many of the things they have done in the past and instead of giving them to the Lord, they dwell on them, allowing them to master their lives and make them miserable.  Many believers seem to be fighting stress, worry and fear which can also bring on problems and even sickness.  God’s Word says this in John 8:36, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Jesus came to set us free from sin and many other things I have talked about here that fall under that banner, remember Jesus wants to set us free.  In 1 John 1:9 it says this, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jesus came to set us free of our emotional and psychological problems also, that weigh us down and steal our joy.  Jesus said this in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Jesus wants to set us free of these things that have a hold on our lives and drain all of our energy, strength, our peace and joy.  God’s Word says this in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

When you become a believer you have an enemy that wants to destroy you, and he will use any means to accomplish his goal, so we need to put on the whole armor of God and stand our ground.  Like I said, if God be for us we will win, or overcome, if we don’t give in and give up.  Many are suffering persecution also but remember this, if you are a believer you wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and rulers in high places against the very forces of darkness.  Your enemy is trying to get you angry at God so you won’t trust Him, or angry at people to the point that you won’t forgive, like I said he wants to destroy you.  But, if you are in Jesus, by faith, and are born-again you will win if you hang in there and not throw in the towel and give up.

I have four more verses for you to read, 1 Peter 5:8-11, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

I hope this has been an encouragement to you and may you have a super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!  Don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord for He is worthy!!
