Judge Not

I think this is a good subject to talk and think about because it happens so often.  It seems like we have all been guilty of this at some time or other.  It is so easy to hear or see something that someone has done or said and jump on the judgement band wagon.  I know I have been wrongly judged at times and I have also been guilty of judging others the same way.

One of the big problems with judging people is that we have no business sitting in judgment of anyone else because we don’t know the thoughts and intents of the person’s heart.  God will judge the thoughts and intents of the heart of each one of us because He knows all things.  God is the only person who can rightly sit in the judgement seat and someday He will do just that.  Think of this, God’s word says that judgement starts with the household of God.  If it starts with us, what kind of people should we be?

Please read 1 Peter 4:16-18, “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now ‘If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?’”

We should be the kind of people that love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and love our neighbor as ourselves.

Now please read what it says in Matthew 7:1-5, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

This is so easy to forget, but this is so important to put into practice.  We would be so much better off if we just leave the judging to God!!

I hope this has been a blessing and an encouraging message.  I hope you all have a blessed and super day!!
