The Beautiful Grace of God

The grace of God is so amazing that it is very hard to comprehend.  It’s hard to imagine that anyone would truly love anyone unconditionally, not even a friend or a spouse, but what about if the person was your enemy.  Every born-again believer was God’s enemy at one time and, if not for the grace of God, they would still be His enemy!!  This is what the word grace means; it comes from the Greek word ‘charis’ which means favor, blessing and kindness.

When I think about it, it would have saved God a lot of problems and heartaches if He didn’t create man in the first place, after all He didn’t need us.  He never needs us for anything because He is complete in Himself plus He had His Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and all the angels to fellowship with, why would He need us?  Not only that but He is so different than any of the other god’s that you hear about!  It seems like with any other god you have to work your way to get close to them, always doing something to please them.  But the God that created all things did something so awesome that we should be flabbergasted just hearing about it.

Now think about this, He came to us when we couldn’t go to Him and He did it so that we could get close to Him and even have a personal relationship with Him.  How can we possibly get right with Him without working in some way for it?  This is where the amazing grace comes in, think about it, God did it all for us and all we have to do is accept His amazing grace.  This is why I call it the beautiful grace of God!!

Now think of this, we were spiritually dead and God made it possible that the spiritually dead could live by being transformed into His image and likeness more and more each day.  God’s Word says we were created in His image and in His likeness but the sin nature that we were born with separated us from God and made us His enemies, even though He still loved us.  So because we could do nothing to make ourselves right in God’s eyes, He did what we couldn’t do, He sent His only begotten Son to die for us and reconcile us to Him, so it had nothing to do with works on our part.

Read what Ephesians 2:1-9 says, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

All we can do is repent and receive His gift of grace, but without the conviction of the Holy Spirit we can’t even do that, God provided all that we needed to be forgiven and set free of our sins resulting in salvation through His amazing grace and our faith, which He also provided.  Read Romans 12:3, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.”

God could have rejected us but He chose to be gracious to us.  So, if you want a relationship with the Lord and you feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit then repent, which means to turn away from your sin and go in the other direction and tell the Lord you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive you and be the Lord of your life.  Don’t be in a hurry, let Him fill you with His peace, love and joy and you will go forth rejoicing in the Lord, then share what the Lord has done in your life with others and start growing in your faith!  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!
