The Word says this in Psalm 53:1, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt,
and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good.”
Atheists, evolutionists and those that think like them, claim
there is no God. Does this mean they are not smart in other things? No, some are very smart but they will never
meet their highest potential without a relationship with the Lord. All of us were in this condition, but some
chose to stay that way, read what it says in Romans 3:10-18, “As it is written:
“There is none
righteous, no, not one;
There is none who
understands;
There is none who
seeks after God.
They have all turned
aside;
They have together
become unprofitable;
There is none who does
good, no, not one.
Their throat is an
open tomb;
With their tongues
they have practiced deceit;
The poison of asps is
under their lips;
Whose mouth is full of
cursing and bitterness.
Their feet are swift
to shed blood;
Destruction and misery
are in their ways;
And the way of peace
they have not known.
There is no fear of
God before their eyes.”
There are different reasons why people reject knowing God,
some don’t want to be subject to anyone except themselves and some don’t want
to confront their sin, so they can continue in it. Many were in church at one time but felt
rejected or were hurt for some reason or other so they got sour and bitter and
now they claim there is no God, which is an oxymoron because they once
served Him and believed in Him. Some may
be selfish and not want to share what they have financially or materially because
they know that it will cost them something if they become devoted believers
because when you are a part of the church you will be encouraged to give tithes
and offerings. There are many excuses
you can come up with to keep from believing there is a God but none of them will
satisfy in the end, and never forget, whatever you possess, if you have all the
riches in the world and all kinds of worldly goods, you can’t take them with
you.
Read this carefully; “He is no fool to give up what he
cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose,” written by Jim Elliott. If you would like to know a little more about
Jim Elliott and his friends, read the book ‘Through Gates of Splendor.’ It will be of great interest to you, I believe,
if you’re looking for a good, inspiring true story. These men were willing to give up their lives
for the Lord and they did.
Read what it says in Mark 8:34-38, “When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He
said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what
will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or
what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and
My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also
will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
I feel that everyone who rejects the Lord is not willing to
give up something they are hanging onto for some reason or other, when all the
Lord wants to do is give us a better and more fulfilled life. He doesn’t need what you have, but if you are
willing to give up and let go of the things you are holding onto, you will be
blessed. So if you’re angry with the
Lord, or someone that was in a church, remember we are all imperfect and we all
get hurt sometimes but it isn’t the Lord’s fault, it may be our expectations are
too high. So if this is speaking to you,
I encourage you to get into God’s Word and read it, starting with the New
Testament, asking the Lord to open your mind to understanding His Word and to
reveal Himself through His Word, and if you are sincere I believe that He will.
You will know the truth and the truth
will set you free!! Something to think
about! May God bless you and yours, and
may you have a super day!!
