Anger and Bitterness

What causes this to happen: Someone hurts or offends someone, then they let it simmer within them instead of dealing with whatever the issue is, they let it eat away at them.  Then they choose not to talk about it   and they meditate on unforgiving bitter thoughts.  They reject sound counsel and they allow their anger and bitterness to consume them.  Then they allow this unforgiveness to cause a separation between them and God.  They also allow this sin to affect every other choice they make in their lives and allow themselves to be very miserable people, not necessarily in this order, but I think you got the message.

The best thing they can do is to forgive the person or persons as quickly as they can before they allow any of these things to take place!!  I am not saying that all things are easy to forgive, not on your life, but like the Bible says all things are possible with God.  And, we are commanded to forgive, even our enemies.

The Word of God says this in Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Then you might want to think about the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6:9-13, “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

This makes it imperative that we forgive everyone who sins against us for which I am also responsible, so I am speaking also to me.  If you don’t think you can forgive the person or persons, pray and ask the Lord to help you to forgive and ask Him to help you love that person or persons like He does.  Maybe you don’t want to pray because the thing was so horrific, then ask others to pray for and with you.

Enough said, have a super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!
