Jesus Opens Blind Eyes

There is an amazing true story found in the book of John in the ninth chapter. It is about a man that was born blind.  Can you imagine being physically born blind all of your life, never, ever seeing anything?  That was the condition this man was in with no hope of seeing ever.  Question; how many of you are in this situation, maybe you are not blind physically like this man, but you have been sick or in a financial state or in some kind of bondage and you have been in your situation for a very long time and you feel that there is no hope?

I have and I am now in that situation, but there is hope in the Lord.  If you could get a real glimpse of this man and stop and think of what he is going through you might feel differently.  Sometimes we see people in different situations and we either feel bad for the person or we just block it out of our minds, or some people may make fun of a person in these kinds of situations.  But, until you have walked in that person’s shoes for a while you will never know how they feel.

I don’t know if this man was a praying person or not, but he was going to receive a miracle.  When Yeshua (Jesus) steps on the scene things can change quickly and hope is always present.  In this man’s case his life would never be the same.  This is a very happy ending, or beginning, for this man depending on how you look at it.

But there is a sad part of this story also that may affect you the reader. Think about the Pharisees, they could see physically but they were blind spiritually, which is far worse than being blind physically in my estimation.  Instead of acknowledging the miracle that just took place and rejoicing with the man that was born blind, all they could think of was that the Lord had healed this man on the Sabbath.

I want to say this to anyone that’s in a situation where they feel like there is no hope, there is always hope as long as you are still breathing.  Read John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

The Pharisees could have had hope also but many refused to repent and believe because they would rather hold onto their old traditions and beliefs.  They were jealous and very prideful and also blinded to the truth, but not all of them.  Please read John 3:1-15, “There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, ‘Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus said to Him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’ Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.’ Nicodemus answered and said to Him, ‘How can these things be?’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.’”

I guess some weren’t as prideful and stubborn as others were, but what about you, what keeps you from believing?  I have a challenge for you; get a Bible and start reading in the book of John with an open mind and ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you and you may experience the blinders coming off of your eyes and you may receive the truth.  The Bible says, “if you know the truth, the truth shall set you free!!”  Give the Lord a chance and you may experience your deliverance and the peace and joy that only the Lord can give and you may also be set totally free.  It says in the word of God, “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed,” and it also says, “taste and see if He is good!!”

I hope this will be an encouragement and a blessing to you.  May the good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day!!  PS Don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord for He is worthy!!
