Remember
Jesus had 12 close friends, but one wasn’t a friend at all. One denied him
three times and all 12 said at one time that they would all die with him, but
when the time came, they all scattered and left him. I realize that Peter
repented and eventually all gave their lives for the Lord, except Judas.
Some may
not realize that Jesus called his disciples friends, so I thought I would throw
these verses in. Please read John 15:12-15,
“This is My commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you.
No one has greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.
You are My friends if you do what I command you. “I am no longer calling you
servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. Now I have
called you friends, because everything I have heard from My Father I have made
known to you.”
Every
born-again believer has a friend that sticks closer than a brother, his name is
Jesus, the best friend we will ever have. It is great to have close friends to lift you
up when you are down and discouraged, friends to laugh with when you are happy,
friends that will help guide you when you need wisdom and friends that will lead you into all truth and
not lead you astray telling you what you need to hear and not just what you
want to hear. Friends that will be with
you through the hard times and the good times and friends that will weep with
you when you weep and rejoice with you when you rejoice.
A friend
is not someone who just says they love you, but someone that truly does love
you and has your best interest in mind and shows it by their actions. You may want to be a little choosy whom you confide
in and pick for your friends.
May the
good Lord bless you and yours and may you have a super day. I hope this has been a blessing and an
encouragement and help!! PS don’t forget
to thank and praise the Lord for He is so worthy!!
