None of us want to hear these words from the Lord that the
Ephesus community (Church) heard, please read Revelations 2:4-5, “But this I have against you, that you have
forsaken your first love. Remember then from where you have fallen. Repent and
do the deeds you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your
menorah from its place—unless you repent.”
There are other things that mess us up also, like being
deceived by false teachers and what they teach. Please read 1 John 4:1-6, “Loved ones, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see
if they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. You
know the Ruach Elohim by this—every spirit that acknowledges that Messiah Yeshua
has come in human flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge
Yeshua is not from God. This is the spirit of the anti-messiah, which you have
heard is coming and now is already in the world. You are from God, children,
and you have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is
in the world. They are from the world, so they speak from the world and the
world listens to them. We are from God; whoever knows God listens to us, but
whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of
truth and the spirit of error.”
Now please read 2 Peter 3:14-18, “Therefore, loved ones, while you are looking for these things, make
every effort to be found in shalom, spotless and blameless before Him. Bear in
mind that the patience of our Lord means salvation—just as our dearly loved
brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom given to him. He speaks about
these matters in all of his letters. Some things in them are hard to
understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist (as they also do with the
rest of the Scriptures)—to their own destruction. Since you already know
all this, loved ones, be on your guard so that you are not led astray by the
error of the lawless and lose your sure footing. Instead, keep growing in the
grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah. To Him be the
glory both now and to the day of eternity! Amen.”
It’s so important to study the scriptures so that you won’t
be drawn away by false teachers or false prophets. If the true Word is being preached by an anointed
preacher or teacher, more than likely there will be some in the community that
will be convicted; but just so you don’t get too puffed up, even if the word is
preached and the anointing isn’t on the speaker, that same thing can happen
because the word is always anointed. Please
read Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God
is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right
through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to
judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Some people may think I am being negative about this, but
what I am saying is the truth and this last verse backs me up on this point. The Word of God is living and active and sharper
than any two- edged sword. If you are struggling
in any area in your Christian walk, maybe you have let yourself get too preoccupied
with other things; maybe you need to repent and get back to where you started
out, back to the beginning!! This is
just a suggestion, it may be just the thing you need to do!!
I hope this has been an encouragement to you and a help and
a blessing. May the good Lord bless you
and yours with His perfect peace, love and joy and health and happiness. And may you all have a super, super day!!
