Are you frightened by what you hear each day from the media
with all the bad news that you hear? If
you are a believer, take courage, if you believe that God’s Word is true then
stand on His promises and don’t be moved. Keep in mind that many of the stories you hear
are not always the truth but have been fabricated because of someone’s biases
towards someone else or whatever the topic may be about. Some things are brought to our attention to
cause panic and fear in our hearts. Meditating
on the Word of God may help you to calm down and get better control of your
emotions.
Please read Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
It is important that we get God’s perspective on what makes
us anxious, worried and frightened, by seeking Him for wisdom, knowledge and
understanding. When you start getting
overwhelmed by the things you hear or even some of the things you see, maybe
you need to shut off the TV if you are spending too much time on the news, or
get off Facebook if you are spending too much time on it or even your IPad or
your IPhone, whatever it is that you use that frightens you, take a break from
it for a while. We need to have a
balance and the right perspective and the way we receive that is to spend more
time with the Lord and less time on worldly things. There are times when we need to be still
before the Lord and let the Lord minister to our hearts.
Read what Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:1-4, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe
in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that
where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye
know.”
And now read John 14:27-29, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you.
If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my
Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that,
when it is come to pass, ye might believe.”
One way you may overcome fear and anxiousness is by
rejoicing in the Lord, which may help you get your mind off of your fears and
your anxiety.
Please read Philippians 4:4-7, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your
moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Let the peace of God flood your hearts and minds. Let me give you something else that may
encourage you and help you; this is something I think most of us should
meditate on much more than we do, please read Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these
things.”
I think I have said enough. I pray that you will have a super day and that
what you have read will encourage you. May
the good Lord bless you and yours!! PS
don’t forget to thank and praise the Lord!!
