The Stones Will Cry Out

There are many today that hardly give Jesus a second thought and there are those that have never bowed their knees to Jesus and then there are those that out and out claim that Jesus wasn’t who He claimed to be.  He may have been a good man and a teacher but that is all they claim that He was.  I can understand why many feel this way because they are blinded to the truth by the evil one, who only comes to steal, kill and destroy, he is a liar and the father of all lies and the truth is not in him.  I know these things because the Word of God speaks about these things. The evil one has deceived so many people into believing a lie and there are many people that don’t know the truth because the evil one has blinded their eyes.

Jesus said this just before He died about the people that lived in the time of His crucifixion, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”  There are many today that think they know the truth but don’t and they don’t worship or praise Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that is a shame, but if they are still breathing there is still hope.  I know I have said this many times before but I think it is worth repeating, that it is so important to praise the Lord even if it is a sacrifice of praise.

If you can’t thank and praise the Lord here, why would you want to go to heaven where we will praise the Lord many, many times for all eternity.  I have been going to church, and have been a committed, dedicated believer, pretty close to 36 years now and over that period of time when I have been in a church service where the congregation has had a chance to get up and praise the Lord, telling about something the Lord is doing in their life, only about a handful of people will get up and give a testimony of thanks or praise and there could be a hundred or far more than that in the congregation and I still can’t understand it.  I don’t know if they think they have nothing to praise the Lord for or if they are just bashful and feel intimidated or what the problem is.  It seems to me like most of the people should be on their feet ready to praise the Lord.

I notice when it is time to get up and sing praise songs in the service, most everyone who can stand, will be on their feet singing praise songs with no problem, but what happens when there are no songs to sing?  What brought me back to this was after praying this morning I looked in the Word of God and I read about Jesus riding into Jerusalem riding on a colt.  Read Luke 19:35-38, “And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.”

The Word also speaks of this in Matthew 21:1-11 and John 12:12-19.  This was a time of celebration, a time of worship and praise and it was well deserved because the Messiah was with them; just like when the Lord comes back for His bride, what a day of rejoicing that will be and at that time every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father!!  But there was a problem here with some of the religious people, read verse 39 of the same chapter, “And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.”

Can you imagine that the people who should have been praising were angry telling Jesus to stop them from rejoicing and praising Him?  Now read what Jesus said in verse 40, “And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

These verses have always blessed me and a few years ago I wrote a song called, “The Stones and The Rocks Will Not Cry Out For Me.”  It seems like I can always find something to thank and praise the Lord for.  I hope this will always be true in my life and everyone else’s life that is born-again.  I guess a good place to start praising the Lord, if you have a struggle with doing it, is by counting your blessings and naming them one by one then you can start thanking and praising the Lord for them.

If you are really having a problem thanking and praising the Lord because of some struggle or hardship, look online at You Tube for the song by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir called, “I Never Lost My Praise” and let it bless you and encourage you.

Something to think about and have a super day and may the good Lord bless you and yours!!  If you have to, give the Lord a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving for he is worthy!!
